Oops, didn't see that. Thanks.

Also, do you want any Earth languages outside English?

Naughty, naughty Dabocim. Dayle's a vicious bastard, you don't want to piss him off.

Hm, cleric sounds good. The group doesn't let him play Wizards because he takes too long deciding on spells.

It would be cool if it wasn't all just hack and slash. I tend to get bored really fast if the game is just hack and slash. I figure if I just want constant combat I could be playing any number of CRPGs, and have all the math done for me.

Actually, much of the plot I have set up for after the encounter is more investigation based, though it all depends on how much you guys want to go down certain paths. Like I said before, most of the plot will hopefully be decided by your own actions; I won't send combat after combat your way if that's not where your characters are headed.

Okay, been getting some advice from other GMs, and I have a question for you:

Do you guys want to start the first encounter with little-to-no gear, and get to choose your gear at a scene further along from a patron (I've got two patrons in mind), or do you just want to get starting gold to decide your gear now?

I'd prefer gear later. It'd be a fun scene for my character.

(do we all have to do the same? Maybe some characters have a history + planning and so have some gear, and some are mentally retarded and don't)

I might be able to go separately, but it will require a bit more work. Basically, the level of the first encounter depends a lot on what gear you have, so I'll want to know before-hand, who has what. Since this is all about roleplay though, as long as you can justify what you want to do, you can do it.

Dabocim, since you want gear before-hand, you get average gold according to the rogue class at the SRD (140 gp), and you can fill in the rest (260 gp) once you get to town. You can start working on your equipment now.

This goes for everybody who wants equipment first, though the specific values vary by class. If you can't find it, I'll quote it for you.

For those of you that want to start off unequipped, I'll need to know in advance. Since, though, you having no equipment hinges on the idea that your players didn't have the equipment list prepared, you get NO equipment this way, except for improvised gear found around a clearing. Unless you can justify why your Player would have selected just one or two items. You'll get the full starting gold worth of gear once you get to your patrons (minus the value of starting items, if any). This way, everybody should have equal/equivalent starting gold/gear after meeting with your patron.

Everything looks good Grim, although you'll have to wait till I get home for me to review and host it.
Just one thing though: Where are your ability scores?

Other questions for you: Do you want any Earth language besides English? And do you want to pick out your starting gear now, or gain it later?

Grimtina, you're up, but...

I had to guess your ability scores. It looks okay (fits the point buy system and your bonuses), but tell me if I got it wrong.
I randomed your height and weight.

I'd also like to know what Earth languages besides English you want, if any, and whether you want starting gear now or later. If now, then you get 70 gold, a sorcerer's average.

I was hoping to make my character sheet today... But my computer got infected with something and I've been trying since last night to get it fixed. I'm posting from my PS3 right now, and I can't even figure out how to highlight text with this thing...

No worries Shoelip.

Dabocim, you should give me a list of your exact gear before you make an IC post, since you're the one who said he wanted starting gear now. You have 140 gold to spend. There's an item list on the SRD, which I think is nearly identical to the D&D one. Not sure though, haven't seen the D&D one.
Once you tell me what gear you want, you can go ahead and make an introductory IC post, telling us what Alex is thinking right now, but keep in mind that I'll be waiting for introductory posts from everybody until we move forward, and that will wait until we have all the sheets sorted out. Don't worry, we'll get moving.

Well I've tried unsuccessfully to get my computer working again. Unless it miraculously fixes itself while I'm asleep it looks like I'm going to be without a computer for a while... Now excuse me while I go cry myself to sleep. :p

I'm not sure what it is. I get this weird fake virus scan program that pops up and keeps me from doing anything with constant warning popups. Including opening the task manager. The only way to get rid of it is to open the task manager as soon as I log in and then close it's process when it starts... it doesn't appear as an application.

Of course I've tried scanning (with Malware Bytes Anti Malware) in safe mode, but it hasn't helped. In fact it just made it so my computer wouldn't log in at all. I would log in and it would play the sound effect and show my background but then not do anything else. The rest of the desktop wouldn't appear. Finally I just let it rest for a while like I said I would... And now it's logging in with the fake anti-virus scan program again... I wish I could remember the name of the process.

Well, all I can suggest is that you google the name of the process if you find it again. That's helped me once or twice in the past.

Viruses are a real pain to get rid of. I've had one computer turned into a paperweight from one stupid virus that spawned a bunch of reformatting and reinstalation shit (virus+windows+laptop=bad, bad, combination). And on another computer, I couldn't get rid of the problem, but after killing the process enough times in task manager, the thing went away on its own. *shrugs* Viruses are a pain. I don't even get why people make them. There's no real point to these kinds of viruses, except sheer malicious intent against people you don't even know...

I have McAffee. But I think it's out of date and I can't seem to get it to update.... Oh well, anyway I managed to fix it after asking my dad about it. He suggested something I should have thought of myself. Update MBAM. My version was about a year old so... Yeah... Once I updated it found and cleared out all the issues right away.

So hopefully I can get a character finished soon, but for now I'll try going into more detail on the player.

Let's see. Peter Webster: Joined the group a 2 months ago. Tends to either over analyze things or fail to think about them enough. Slightly nervous around strangers but has warmed up to the group quickly enough. 20 years old. A skinny, pale, typical nerd with large glasses, though he's worried enough about what people think of him to keep his hygiene up. He was worried about the idea of Dayle GMing. He also doesn't know that much about the Campaign setting so his usually detailed character backgrounds is less so for this game. Well I could go on and on adding stuff to this, but I think that gives a pretty good idea of the personality and that's what's important anyway right?

For my character... Let's call him Andon. Peter tends to play more simplistic characters after a bad experience playing a wizard. Andon is something different for him though. It's the first time since said 'the incident' that he's played a dedicated spellcaster. He also thought it might be interesting to try a character that was capable of helping in a non-combat situation for a change. He's not really happy with the background he wrote up for Andon. He felt it wasn't up to his usual standards thanks to his lack of setting knowledge. Andon is a Cleric of Calistria. Mostly because Peter didn't think about it too much and figured she was the first interesting non-evil deity on the PathfinderWiki he used to look up the gods. He's supposed to be a pretty handsome and charismatic character, but how that will pan out with Peter playing him isn't so certain. According to his background he tends to avoid taking the violent approach to vengeance and prefers to get back at a person by teaching them a lesson.
