Thanks Merc. I've already caught a mistake on the sheet (I forgot to add Channel Energy to Special Abilities), but I'll leave that version there for now until more revisions become necessary.

LP- meant to ask you: where does the Seeker of Brightness trait come from?

Orlovsky, eh? Never my favorite poet and I'm fairly convinced his work is only famous for his having slept with Ginsberg.

Google turned up the one you're talking about and he is clearly not the same one I was. Peter Orlovsky was just in the news because he died. I'd never heard of Dan Orlovsky the football player.

Hmm, would he have to deliver it to you, or could he pass the gun itself through the internet?

Does it matter? It can shoot bullets through the internet that hit you in the face, and stuff.

In other news, lol bacon.

I really like that you chose the Weather and Nobility domains for Kayel. I've only seen one caster cleric in action as a PC, but I've run plenty of them as a DM. They're fun.

Just for shits and giggles, I adapted BP's and my 4E power cards to Pathfinder Spell Cards. This is not the final layout as it's pretty much exactly the same as the Power Cards. I'll probably not do anything else with this. It was just a way to spend the afternoon.

Interesting.

Also, all I know is that the internet rifle "works through the internet." That's all it said on the tag.
Experience tells me it busts up the monitor, too, so I haven't tried it since switching over to laptops.

Edit: Hmm. Meteor hammer isn't as delicious as I first thought (the whip is the only reach weapon that can hit adjacent targets).
I'm considering the urumi, partially because of its stats, but mostly because the urumi itself is freaking awesome.

Merc, that is an awesome picture.

I was looking at the artifer class, which is from Tomb of Secrets I guess, and I really like the concept and most of the mechanics. I do think that Weird Science is designed a bit funny, but I would kill for an opportunity to play an artificer in a different game. Inventing stuff and having a billion skills at my disposal? Fun.

New plan: Game will start after EC has regained net access.

z- Lynn still needs a pic. LP- unless I am mistaken, you still need to post a pic in your thread.

Everyone- I will be posting some maps and rules related stuff within the next few days. Nothing related to actual kingdom running as of yet, but the exploration rules will be making their appearance.

Um... is Lynn alright otherwise, mechanically?

My internet's been ridiculously slow lately, I haven't really wanted to go through a bunch of pics to find one.

So I was looking at the leadership roles, and I swear at some point people told me what roles they were hoping to fill. All of this is fairly far in the future, but I'm trying to head off problems before they arise and you are faced with armed rebellion six months in to your country running.

So far it looks like:
Mattin: Ruler (Baron to start, Duke in the middle game, and finally King if he should live so long and not be deposed)
Makoa: Magister (head wizard)
Vanick: Marshal (organize patrols and enforces justice in the wild places in the kingdom)
Lynn: Warden (responsible for the city(ies) guard and kingdom's defenses)
Kayel: High Priest, or possibly Councilor. I know there was mention of co-rulers, but the disadvantages of having a vacant position outweighs the benefit of doubling rulers. So at the outset at least, I'd recommend waiting on the co-rulership.

Given that cohorts (and thus cronyism) won't kick off until lvl 7 and kingdom building starts around lvl 5, my general recommendation is to court some of the NPCs you meet along the way into positions of leadership.

My other question is: how transparent do you want the kingdom building rules to be? Do you want to know the exact benefits and penalties to the buildings you can build or what positions are filled (or aren't)? Or do you want to go for a more organic, experimental approach where instead of maximizing benefits while minimizing penalties it becomes more trial and error ("Gee, I thought building a brothel next to the temple made perfect sense!").

Hmm. I was assuming the Lynn and Seh duo would handle the Warden and Marshal bits (police), while Vanick would have the "general" position (military). Or something like, Lynn would handle the widespread, minor issues police, while Vanick would command small teams of elite, "real combat" forces.

I'm still not sure what all the roles are, exactly, and I have a feeling what I was thinking won't line up exactly with what they've figured.
I would sort of like the kingdom rules to be somewhat transparent. It's not so much a question of "what I would do" as "how I'd express it mechanically."

Originally Posted by zachol # I would sort of like the kingdom rules to be somewhat transparent.
I'm just going to call this a vote for transparency.

The roles (and brief description) are:

Ruler
[co-Ruler: optional]
Councilor: represents the will of the citizenry
General: takes command of the kingdom's army. Public hero type
Grand Diplomat: oversees international relations
High Priest: what it says on the tin
Magister: responsible for higher learning and magic
Marshal: organizes patrols and enforces justice in rural areas of kingdom
Royal Assassin: public executioner, headsman, and/or knife in the dark
Spymaster: observes kingdom's underworld and criminal elements, spies on other nations
Treasurer: organizes tax collection, manages the treasury
Warden: leads the kingdom's defense and city guards.

Each role contributes to either the kingdom's Loyalty, Stability, and Economy. Rulers and Spymasters get to pick which one they effect, while the other roles are locked in to what they provide bonuses for, which is based on attribute bonuses (generally characters get a choice of one of two attributes to use for the bonus).

I suppose Vanick could be a general, but I don't anticipate him being any kind of strategic leader, which is what generalships call for.
