Sorry!

'gilding the lily' is British, they both mean 'doing something superflous'.

The chinese one comes from the story of two friends, they where making merry but, at one point, remained alcohol just for one, they decided to bet it: the one who drew a serpent first would drink.
The faster of the two saw his friend was well behind and decided to 'improve' the snake drawing legs, doing so he lost, 'since serpents do not have legs'.

Poor Itches!

I do hope he gets over his self-imposed vow of silence .

Anybody feel up to NPCing Maeko? I suppose I could take a crack at it but she's awfully good at surprising me with her thoughts.

oh me!! Me!! Pick me!!

I'll Do it!! and with Itches not talking for now, it will make it easyer for me. Just dont expect anything too breathtaking.

The main reason for Itches not talking is that i wanted to see what playing a character that doesnt talk is like. Just to let ya know

Two sock puppets walk into a bar, and if that wasn't weird enough they order a drink. Later that same day the Bar Keep was arreasted for selling Alcohol to minors, remember people, Sock Puppets need to be 18 too.

Okay, we've got a bunch of people MIA. Maeko is on vacation, Cadrius is moving, and I don't know what happened to Lone Paladin. Itches, Cadogan: You still there?

Itches, reporting for Duty

<slautes>

hmm so half the ppl are missing? We know about 2 of them, and we can ( and have) been NPCing them. How long untill Lone Paladin decides to investigate that other trail, and isnt heard from untill he he comes back?

Sorry for being absent recently; for some reason I couldn't access the site for the past couple o' days.

No worries; the delay actually helped. I happened to come back at a perfect time to intervene.

Assuming, of course, that no one decides to walk all over my post and have something completely different happen. (Or Cadrius suffers from HUA* and refuses to work with a good idea.)

* HUA = Head Up A--- well, you know.

I assume he was joking - messageboards make it easy to read things the wrong way.

Anyway, there you have it; a long post that essentially covers the action "Shade strips the dead gnoll of it's armor". You have to love PBP .

My Bad!

Sorry, CT. Does adding a goofy smiley at the end make it clear(er) that I was just being facetious?

Yes, they're called Emoticons for a reason.

It had also just hit me that you could have been talking about Cadrius's character... named Cadrius. Real Confusing there.

You have a point there... identity-confusion is probably the main reason that people don't require their characters to have the same names as their aliases.

And yes, I was referring to Cadrius, the PC -- not Cadrius, the person. It definitely isn't a PEBKAC* issue; mainly, it's just another chance for me to use a TLA**.

* PEBKAC = Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair
** TLA = Three-Letter Acronym

I know my post isn't really moving the plot along, but I think Cadrius' input on what to do is important. I figure this buys him a bit more time to make an appearance.

Don't start with that humility shit now... that was an excellent post! Ghod forbid we should get a little insight as to how to strip a body, or what the ranger thinks of all this.

HEE-HAW!
It's me checking in again!
Great job you all do here , but........

Ever thought of starting a second thread , to keep it managable?(Both the game AND the OOC-threads , I mean)

Since LeeCHeSSS removed me from power (and I take it , Gralhruk filled the spot) and I won't be here too often , you can just take it as a suggestion.

Hey everyone I'm so sorry for not posting but the phone jack in my apartment is broken and won't be fixed until Tuesday so that will be the earliest I'll have the opportunity to post. I'm so frustrated that I've been missing out here and I hope I haven't slowed anything down.

Cadrius: No problem, we're still loitering outside the cave trying to plan our next step. I think we can wait another day or two for Cadrius to have his say .

Mega (if you are still around): I'm not officially a mod yet but hopefully soon. My first order of business will be to create separate sub-forums for Ring Walkers and Adventurer's Escapades. Since Itches seems to really enjoy just one thread (and LeeCHeSSS doesn't seem to mind) then I'll probably just leave it.

LonePaladin: Just for the record, I have no idea how one would go about stripping a corpse. Really .

Hmmm. I don't think I can create sub-forums, but I'll be checking with LeeCHeSSS to verify. If I can't, I'll petition him to split this into two separate sub-forums. Quick question, though:

What would you all like to call our little game here?

We could just go with "Adventurer's Escapades", but then our sub-forum will have the same name as the main forum. So, suggestions are welcome.
