On another note; can anyone enlighten me on what the last few sentences of the Hunting/Tracking action in the rule book means? Specifically the part where it says:

For purposes of setting or spotting ambushes or traps, use Action number vs. Difficulty. If you have the totem of an appropriate animal (i.e., you have either Animal Senses like Wolverine or are a Transformer like a Werewolf) then the cost is one level cheaper.

What cost and level is it referring to?

Basically, if you have things that improve your senses, or your Transform form is the type of things which would be better in the wilderness, then it costs a number of white stones as if you were buying one less action level of it. Lots of powers are paired like that.

The cost level of white stones that you pay to purchase the action.

So if H/T is AN+2, but you have animal senses, you pay AN+1 worth of white stones.

Edit: Refresh is your friend. Still, mine's better.

...what the hell are you all doing to my foyer? O.o

On another note, I'm about to post, and then respond to my 3 new Private Messages. Hopefully answering said messages will enable me to grab my newest players and add them to the mix.

I am a bit confused about it because clearly said that Reflexive Dodge would cost -1 Level from its normal +3 Levels if I had Animal senses. But Hunting/Tracking doesn't cost any extra levels in the first place, it just costs the regular modifier numbers. So if I want, say, 4 points in it, I only have to pay as though I've bought 3?

When you work out the final cost of an Action or Modifier, you look on the chart and find the cost based upon the effective "level" of the power. So, if you chose an Action at 7, and the cost to purchase that Action was "Action # + 1 Cost Level", you'd look at the cost for purchasing an Action Number on the chart at the value of 8 (i.e. 9 White Stones); if, however, the Cost of that power was reduced by 2 Cost Levels, you'd pay for the same Action as though it were valued at 6 (thereby costing only 4 White Stones).

I'll discuss it with you more over MSN.

In short, yes - that's it, exactly.

Okay guys, welcome Pantherine to the game! Her sheet's up; just waiting for my final player before I include them in actual posts.

Yay!

This is my first time playing Marvel, though. So don't be surprised if I end up doing some overly weird stuff that potentially gets the world blown up.

No worries Pantherine -- we're all here to help. My advice is simply read through the background details in the rulebook about the Marvel Universe, and keep reading those Runaways books of yours. Also, I recommend getting a few more Marvel comics, if you can find any.

Welcome, Pantherine! As you might guess by my frequent stone misallocations, it's also the first time I've played this particular super-hero game.

Now - to edit that last post!

No worries Krypton -- I'm pretty sure everyone here is new to this game, myself included. In fact, I'm pretty sure that half of what I'm doing is wrong.

On a side note, everyone welcome Ergonomic Cat to the game. Now that both he and Pantherine are sorted, I'll get a post up for them in either my next GM post (the one I'm putting up next), or the one after that; it all depends on how long it'll take me to finalize where I'm placing them in the story.

Also, Cat: your sheet is now Private. If anyone other than Pantherine and Ergonomic Cat can access their respective sheets, please let me know. Player trust time here, people.

Thank you!
I expect me to make many such mistakes as well, so at least there will be two of us. That should make it slightly less embarrassing

And WELCOME Igneous, you big lump!

Time for a Rules Revision guys! The following rule will be in effect as of this post onwards:

Anytime a character moves further than 10-20 yards in combat, Stones -- and an Action -- must be allocated to the effort. How many Stones you'd need to allocate can be seen on the D&R table on page 80, under the Running/Flying headings.

Eg. According to the table, a character can cover c. 400 yards in a Panel by allocating 3 Stones to Speed. If that character spies a foe who is 260 yards away, he'd need to spend 3 Stones to get to him in a Panel; if he only had Speed 2, he'd have to spend enough Stones over the course of a few Panels to cover the distance, taking more time and possibility resulting in a greater distance between them (if his foe is on the move). He uses up 1 of his Actions when allocating Speed Stones.

I'm implimenting the above rule so that there won't be any possible arguements about distance covering in future fights. Any questions, as always post them here.

Since you didn't detail that he was doing anything different, I assumed he was still waiting for the police to show up (who won't do so yet for a set amount of time).

Ahhh. Damn. Must have deleted it accidentally when I was shuffling the orders of actions around. My bad.

So quick to argue with the GM.

Well, we'll say that nothing happens for him this Page, since travelling after them on foot will take longer. Then, when you post for Legion next time, make a note of his taking after them, and I'll respond with what he sees when arriving.

Aren't players supposed to argue with the GM?

Alrighty, will do.

Sure they are. GM's adore arguments from their players almost as much as they enjoy hernias. It's all part of the reason why we do this.

Or maybe we just look for a reason to use the "rocks fall, everyone dies" remark.

His arguments are not evenly remotely restricted to GMs
