Cadrius, I appreciate that you came in here and said what you had to say. I can definitely understand where you're at with the game - not sure about continuing, but hating to give it up.

I'd be willing to make any changes that might help you get back into it. (A fast forward maybe? Some kind of new posting guidelines? I don't know...)

Anyway, I'll wait to hear what you decide.

I'm with Kel!

And I'm also with you in that I forget the minutia of DnD rules and combat and whatnot.

I say: Go to FATE!

I can already hear J's "Go to HERO!" .

So long as I can figure out what my character can and cannot do, I'm cool to continue.

Hey Cad!

The real world is more imporant, its where you keep all your stuff. Tha being said i'm good with doing whatever is going to make things easier for you. If you think a system switch is what is needed then i say do it - what's the worse that can happen? we don't like and switch back. meh. Mechanics can help generate a mood by delineating reality, but its the story that counts.

And you sir, tell a hell of a story.

Thanks for being understanding. I appreciate it.

I'm still sifting through what I believe the issues and challenges are here and what would need to be done to fix them. They are, by in large, entirely on my end. I'm not certain if a change of system would really benefit things. It might just be a superficial nicety. What really needs to happen is a better, more compelling set-up in terms of plot and hooks. What I offer to you as players might be interesting, but the logical choice to risk life and limb to chase them isn't exactly there.

Let me ruminate a bit more and see what I can come up with to solve this.

Yes, but only if you rap about reality--like you and your grandmother drinking a cup of tea.

For those bewildered by the previous rhyme, please see this*.

Two months gone and, believe it or not, I haven't forgotten about this. Far from it. DWE is something I think about on a near-daily basis. I don't think I've painted myself into a corner, but moving forward would require a re-imagining of both the story I want to tell and how I'm going to tell it.

But that just sounds like another excuse to delay. It isn't. The past two months have served me fairly well and I have something in the works for November that should only help me more.

So what am I getting at on this October night, two months later? Expect things to start grinding forward again.

Wow.. Aashya. Which one was she again? Oh yeah, the Sarcosan Defender with amnesia, I remember now.

Sort of.

It might take me a little while to jump back in here.

I can no longer remember how we all intended to meet up again. Looking back over old posts didn't help me any either.

Aashya, Aswad, Heulwen, and Soradur were going to go find the place where the Fell attacked the night before. Aleina, Dun, and Roth were going to wait for Lyr to show up then join the others.

But A, A, H, and S never made it that far - they ran into goblins.

And Lyr never did show up.

A(ashya) and S went back to tell the others... something, while A(swad) and H kept watch on the goblins.

A(ashya), A(leina), D, R, and S went to find L but didn't. Now they have to decide what to do - look somewhere else for L? go find A(swad) and H? follow the trail into the woods?

What hope is there at all that the party will ever reunite? I mean, really!! Do we even have a common meeting place to shoot for?

Hope is a four lettered word, especially in Midnight. Don't worry, if we find the Fell i'm sure we'll be running like crazy - and if its faster then our rally point will be in hell.

Aashya and Soradur went back to tell the others about the goblins, and if Lyr had joined them, to bring them back to Heulwen and Aswad. Once everyone was together again, we could discuss what to do about the goblins (Heulwen, Aswad, Aaysha, and Soradur weren't entirely comfortable with even odds).

Unfortunately, the Fell beat us to them and Lyr's totally MIA.

I wasn't sure if Aashya and Soradur were going to try to lead the others to where they last saw Heulwen and Aswad, or if they were supposed to shoot for the original rendezvous location (the place where the Fell attacked the previous night).

And it didn't really matter except that I was going to refer to it in my IC post. Now that we're all running through the woods willy-nilly we can just hope that we'll find each other again.

Marco!!

on a more serious note - Cad let me know if this is where you were wanting the plot to go. Basically with the goblin being all dead and chewed, Aswad wants to track the beast and see if it will lead them to its lair (?) and hopefully the women (or whats left of them).
