to answer your question itches the original map was made in fractal terrains (the big world map looking thing) and then exported to CC - the color layers represent elevation only. So green is around sea level, and it moves up from there.

Karkus can be moved the headwaters of the river (the non-named river that runs into the Chard) - travel distance was estimated using a 8 hour travel day at a walking pace. traveling down river by boat would significanly increase that.

That being said it doesn't really matter to me if the map becomes "standard" or not. Having a basic framework to build in works for me. It grounds the things that have come before and connects things in a more organic fashion while maintaining consistency. But a totally abstract world may be more of what y'all are going for so that's cool too.

There are somethings that i'm going to reference for my character, namely The City (capital of the human empire and locaiton of the holy see of Pelor). He also has a background dealing with elves so they at least have to exist. Marginalized is fine.

Okay J if your character is finished - and it looks close enough - we should drop you in. We've lost players before because we/they were "waiting" for a chance to smoothly introduce their character. This game is too slow for that, force your way in with an axe in one hand and the head of a sacraficed virgin in the other!

And I can't think of anything for Nicos to be doing except playing with his new NPC.

Big, beefy brawlers - 'no-necks', she and Alek used to call them. Even Blarth doesn't come close to fitting that mental image.
Just don't get him angry. You don't want to meet him when he's angry.

Well I went by the description on your character sheet:

Blarth's appearence is so plain as to go unnoticed ... He is of average height and weight (5'9" and 185lbs. respectively), he has dark brown bordering on black hair, and his skin is a mullato color. He is not ugly to look at but instead leaves little to no impression on those who notice him.
I don't think Juni has seen him really angry yet.

That's what a 6 Cha will do for a guy.

Sigh... Blarth is so misunderstood.

Apparently writing good posts is not like riding a bike. You will have to relearn how to do it.

Is there a consensus as to what time of year it is in the game?

Very late autumn/very early winter as I recall.

What sort of climate are we talking? - I think Juni mentioned something about cold rain. Does it snow here? Is it comparable to a region in the US?

It does tend to vary depending on who is posting. I've always just assumed that it's colder then it gets where I live and there will be snow at some point. Cadrius and Gral both live in the northwest US so I guess something like that have there.

I like the idea of the pacific northwest sort of climate. Rainy...cold...not as much snow and freezing weather because of the warmer ocean currents but cold and wet.

Works for me.

Of course I'm liable to forget at some point and have it snow too... So don't pay any attention to me.

I have a vague memory of us describing the area as fairly dry too. I can't remember.

I've always imagined Northeastern US weather, so snow seems definite.

I think winter has been coming for a long time now. We probably should have had snow by now, but as other have stated, we tend to forget where we are.

I'm comfortable with doing a fast forward to the confrontation with Thunn. What about the rest of you guys? And do we have a plan?

I'm fine with a fast forward also. As far as a plan, I don't have much. Maeko should be present, and at the end of the day I'd like to see her forgive Thunn.
