It looks like it is working out that way. We'll see.

I have finished my school in D.C. and I am heading back to Louisville today after the graduation ceremony.

So definitely no installment today. I will post one Saturday AM depending on responses.

I am now an FA57 "Models and Simulations Officer." This course included lessons about adjudicating roleplaying exercises. I am not kidding. So be proud. You now have a school-trained dungeon master.

Sorry, Merc. There is no equivalent job in the Navy.

Kierna would rather avoid hurting the mounts. She's rather nature minded. If a delay won't hurt us, I'd rather not do a forced march.

Actually CD, there is. I could have gone to the Naval War college and earned a Masters in Models and Simulations. In the plans department of J5, Naval Officers staff and play out scenarios based on intelligence and real world tactical ability. I turned it down because I wanted to get out.

Anyway, congratulations. That always sounded like a cool school to get into.

I think you mean Gizerak, but we know what you mean.

Anyways, Congrats, CD! I editted my last post, too.

I thought it would be simpler to describe both groups in each installment, but instead it seems to have created mass confusion

[OOC: Fugen et al. should have stopped at the normal daily limit for cart travel. The draft animals being new to Fugen and pulling a much heavier load than he'd ever ask Fig to carry, he wouldn't want to push them beyond their normal limits.]
They did. It was the other group that pushed their mounts.

After speaking it over with the others, Gizerak agrees that the inn with the lesser accomodations would suit them just as well.
Nobody else from Gizerak's group (Flarrgj or Kierna) has given an opinion IC about accomodations, though Exarzun did talk about it OOC.

EDIT: Also, with poor accomodations there is no room to put your things in. Poor accomodations means that you are allowed to sleep on the dirty floor with a bunch of strangers, and you get some paste to eat.

You did, however, ask for confimation of the coordinates of where Fugen et al. stopped. Emphasis added in quote below:
Meanwhile, Fugen and party have stopped at 21N/0.5W?
I was too busy at the time to figure out the exact coordinates or to look up the daily speed of a cart to figure out how far from Yi the group was so I just specified the stopping point in general terms and presumed that you could extrapolate from there whether or not you'd done your calculations correctly.

If there was any confusion, it was sparked by your question mark.

Uh oh. Player vs character knowledge. Don't jump the gun.

It is up to Linklegacy how he wants to play it. I think it is unlikely that he will just bum-rush three PCs.

I had expected Nimdor to meet the rest of the group at the dreaded tower. It just worked out this way. I figured he should see the wanted poster when he went through Shen, and then you ended up in the same village at the same time.

Oh i would never be such a Metagamer as to take advantage of OOC knowledge, but i do forsee something like that goin down in the future, though it is some what up to Link and what his charicter will do

And even if it was a coincidence, it was a brillient one.

Flarrgj, Gizerak, and Kierna's latest posts and my response have been moved to the Interlude: Nimdor thread, and this is where they should post until further notice.

CD, has Kierna ever heard of someone called the Shadow Heart? I wouldn't know.

I don't think so. Since she came to Golock's service from a secluded jungle homestead, I wouldn't think that she would be hip to the happenings in the big city

EDIT: Any other characters might have heard of the Shadow Heart if they are from Haigang, or if they have knowledge(local) for the Imperial Heartland or any area that includes Haigang.

See the edit in my last post re: Shadow Heart's reputation.

There is nothing for me to add to this conversation between Nimdor and the others.

Try to get your points across in as few posts as possible, since the other half of the group is in a holding pattern. Short back-and-forth questions and answers make for a more realistic conversation, but that takes a long time to complete in a PBP.

Being the most likely to speak up, I plan to have Gizerak relay the occurances of our mission. I plan to post it later this afternoon.

I can't make out the level 1 map very well, it is quite blurry. I can make out the other two quite easily. And where is the gate/surrounding wall around the tower? And entrances?

This is a pretty small compound. There is no exterior wall besides the one that stretches from the stables to the workshop. Otherwise the buildings themselves make up the exterior. The only outside door is the gate on which Nimdor knocked, located at 40-50 east/ 15-20 north.

I'm not sure why the map seems blurry to you. I just sent you an email with the file attached.

CD, does your indication of damage to the horses take into account the "free" hour of hustling?

Either way, I think it reasonable to push through to the tower, since we won't be needing the horses again right away. They'll be able to recover from the exertion in a proper stable.

That is, of course, assuming that some one in the group can make the Handle Animal check to push the horses. It's a DC 25 check, which is well out of Fugen's reach. We may be forced to stop simply because the animals won't continue.

Good point BP. Linus doesn't have a prayer with Handle Animal checks.

Considering that Handle Animal is a 'trained only' skill, I'll bet lots of people here can't make the check period.
