Freeport OOC

Journal entries were quite consistent, except during the period when he had "changed" (i.e the period between the first noted journal entry and the second).

After that, Lucius seems to have made a concerted effort to try to write in his jounal at least every other day ... the last journal entry was dated 3 days before you were employed by Egil.

As for the dagger, you found no trace of it in his house. It's enough to assume that it was on him when Lucius went missing.

Calendar

Calendar issues:
I've decided on a method of time keeping for the realm that freeport is located in. I'll be using the calendar system in the Greyhawk realms, as it works and I know it.

1 year = 364 days
12 months in the year, each with 28 days
4 weeks of 7 days in each month

Days:
Starday (start of the week and also the start of a month if appliciable)
Sunday
Moonday
Godsday (Day of worship for the devout. Note that only the first Godsday of each month causes nearly everyone to go to their respective temples or shrines, the other three in each month are used primarily for the devout worshipers and by clerics.)
Waterday
Earthday
Freeday (universal day of rest, also the end of a week)

Months and seasons:
Fireseek - Winter
Readying - Spring
Coldeven - Spring
Planting - Low summer
Flocktime - Low summer
Wealsun - Low summer
Reaping - High summer
Goodmonth - High summer
Harvester - High summer
Patchwall - Autumn
Ready'reat - Autumn
Sunsebb - Winter

Midwinter (the time before Fireseek and after Sunsebb) usually marks the beginning of a new year.

There are 4 moons that circle the world upon which Freeport sits. Luna, the Great Moon, is the one which waxes and wanes according to the months. The Mistress and the Handmaiden are the lesser moons, but time is not measured by either of these two.

The fourth moon, Celene (identified by its aquamarine hue), is very rarely seen but stays in the sky for a week or more before setting.

Legend has it that when Celene and Luna are both throned in the same sky, and are waxed at their full size, it is a night of pure power. Luckily this occurance is said to happen only once every two centuries, only coming to pass once every 143 years. The elves call this night Bautifteroura, beautiful terror, because during the convergence of the two moons, the raw power that is visited upon Oerth is both mesmorisingly beautiful and utterly terrifying at the same time.

The date at the moment is Moonday, the 10th day of Coldeven, 591 CY (CY = current year)
You left the port city of Maplecross on Godsday, the 25th day of Readying, and arrived in Freeport on Sunday, the 9th day of Coldeven.

If you have any queries about the calendar system, feel free to ask.

Hey hey!

Howdy y'all. It's Az. I figured changing my handle to Cadrius wouldn't confuse many...

This is a very nice place we've got here. Let's get going!

Experience?

Here's a quick question. Could you post how much experience we've received thus far? I'm a little confused as to where I am at the moment.

Firgured I'd keep the same handle... Hope that's cool with everyone & is not confusing.

BTW, do any of you in RL write Latin? I have a (stolen) phrase I want to translate into Latin to use as a sig file.

Thanks!!! Let's get to work!!!

The only pieces of latin i know of are:

et tu? (and you?)

que sera, sera (whatever will be, will be)

and veni, vidi, visa (I came, I saw, I shopped)

Drumish's question about dagger

Hey there Eighteez,

on the old board you asked about the dagger Kahluah was referring to:

I had asked him about the journal entries, and whether we found a dagger. I was referring to Luscius' note in his journal that he would be carrying his dagger around with him at all times now.

Nothing special.

Is there anything more enjoyable than sneaking around? I think not...well ok so maybe it's not the best thing, but it's got to be in the top five.

Well hey hey and a ho ho. I've got a request for y'all. I'm really interested in getting feedback on my writing. I'm constantly trying to find new ways to improve it and I'd really enjoy hearing anything any of you have to say about it. Constructive or otherwise, all criticism is welcome. Sometimes I just don't feel like Cadrius really comes alive enough.

Anyway, if you have some comments or insults and like to drop them, feel free. As I said, I'm just looking for critiques so that I might get a wee bit better at this.

Everybody's a critic!

Cadrius:

Do you want critiques on your posts as PBP RPG posts? Or as story/novel writing?

They really are two different beasts entirely.

I remember reading over the story you were(are) comprising, and had some gut reactions to it which I don't remember at this point (and didn't have time to comment on at that time either). However if you repost the link for easy access it would make things easier to get back to and take a look at.

I was writing a story? Really? I think you're thinking of somebody else. While I do write I don't recall ever sharing anything online. Maybe I did though in my sleep or something.

I was in fact looking for feedback on my PBP stuff. Any critiques on my writing will help it as a whole. As an english major I'm pretty much driven to try and improve whatever I do so any input would be awesome.

Cad

P.S. I know what you're thinking. He's an english major? How?! What can I say? I'll probably never be one of those famous novelists, but I'd like our story here to be as exciting and interesting as possible.

In the journal, was there any mention of missing money? Thanks!
