In Nomine

I've recently been sent a copy of the roleplaying game In Nomine, and haven't as yet had the time to read it through thoroughly. Has anyone else played it? What are their opinions on it as a system, and as a game?

I've never played it myself, but I love the setting and ideas. The only thing that makes me dubious are the dice mechanics, but I would be very willing to try out a test game of it here, either as a demonic or angelic protagonist.

To be honest, I've heard that it's a little too... flamboyant? After speaking with my friends about similar games, I'd be more tempted to start up a game of C.J. Carella's Armageddon.

Haven't heard of it, though I'll look it up. I at least have the core rules to In Nomine, so that's why I'd be more keen on testing it out. What do you mean by flamboyant?

Armageddon is awesome, a simple rule system and good setting. I do suggest you look it over when the opportunity arises.

Maybe flamboyant wasn't the right word... It's less gritty and dangerous than Armageddon, which is probably why I like it a little less. Then again, I've yet to play in a game of it, so I could just be speaking from ignorance.
