Just saying, the edited part was not there when I made my comment. As your original post read it made it seem as if he was able to cast 2 Solar level spells.

It is all clear now.

Players of characters that want to receive some of Hammers Legacy should let me know what they are looking for, similar to what Erikor got. Everybody is going to get Savant 5, regardless, do to the nature of the information being given.

There are a few skills (such as Linguistics, Throw, Survival, Sail, etc) that the full 80 study points can not be made available. If there is a specific specialized charm (printed somewhere in canon) that you are really wanting, let me know.

Notably, even if Erikor had known-known the Solar Circle Spells, he would have been unable to take the "Cast Solar Circle Sorcery" action until he bought a 5th essence dot and learned the charm.

TocRat and I are in transit - Im in Krygystan right now, flying to Afghanistan tomorrow. TocRat leaves the states today, should be in Krygystan tomorrow (his travel group is about 48 hours behind mine). Where Im at now, wireless is available but really slow (like 2 minutes to load a web page) - hopefully it will be better when we reach our destination.

Good to know. We missed you on Wednesday and wished you were there.

On a side note, Tiernan, I need to know if your interested in some of Hammer's Legacy and if you are what ability or two are you interested in getting some Study Points for.

Jumari I need to know what one or two abilities you might want. Unfortunately Stealth and Larceny are not two of his things, but Awareness and Dodge are on his list...along with Melee, MA, Resistance and Endurance.

Let me know so I can get things started for your little aside in Chapter #4

Hey guys, Like Tiernan said, I am in Ktrygystan now. I will be flying out tomorrow for somewhere, most likely afghanistan but not sure. Was supposed to be here for a couple days but will be leaving tomorrow instead. Oh well...so much for getting a couple days to adjust to the time zone difference.

No problem there. My brothers wedding is this weekend and July 4th, of course. I will expect things to pick up on Sunday Night or Monday morning.

I still have nothing from Jumari, but Wed he had said he had no time this week.

Chapter 5 will start once I have as Yes/No on the Legacy question. Calibration will commence at that time.

Hi - in Afghanistan now, but still in transit... found an intermittent wireless signal. Not sure where TocRat is - he may be 100 yards from me right now and I wouldn't know.

Regarding interest in the Legacy... sure, I wouldn't mind a goodie or two to make me fit in with the circle better. Some ideas include:

1 - a bow upgrade (kinda set that idea in motion a while ago as something that might eventually develop), or

2 - some appropriate bow-related charms (Phantom Arrow Technique and/or There Is No Wind look like good candidates), or

3 - some appropriate skills (lore seems justifiable, though not a favored skill for me... linguistics seems justifiable, and is a caste skill... awareness seems justifiable and is a calling skill).

Feel free to draw from these ideas and move the story along.

I have made it to my post, I am in the Combat Out Post here in Nejil. I'm told we get hit around once a week or so. This is my 3rd day here and luckily no booms yet but it should be soon.
I should have regular access here but the power goes out and stuff frequently. Naturally if they mortar are generator or satelite dishes I will be going silent for an extended period.

Regarding the game, Sei'Jin is interested in performance and Warfare as far as skills go. I really have no real requests for niffty toys. Maybe armor for Morgenstern or cool horse shoes for him. Sei'Jin himself has armor, shield bracer, direlance, doesn't really need anything else.

Oh and I can only use the military laptops they have out here, not a big deal, just a pain since I have to use it when I can in the TOC and it's busy.

I just noticed that it has been over a month. almost two since we last saw anything posted on the Glorious XP thread, just saying...

OFFLINE ALERT

I will be offline from tonight till Monday afternoon while I go on a long weekend vacation with my wife. I do hope to get some posts in today though. If the hotel has a comp with access I will try from there, but not likely.

Correction - TocRat's post is taking fires several times a day since I got to my post 3 days ago... keep him in your prayers.

I've got access to a public terminal now, should be able to check email daily from now on.
No internet connection fo personal machines yet (possibly not ever - major bummer).

OK, OK, so the longest we have gone without a fight is about 36 hours. The new badguy commander out here is a dickhead. Plus he got some funding from the usual places and so can pay his group of shitheads to come out and shoot at the infidel invaders. That, combined with some really stupid calls from brigade haven't helped the situation out here either.

Short form of story, one of our armored vehicles got itself stuck along side a really shitty road next to a town. Higher command has made a series of dumb decisions, completely counter to what we here on the scene have recommended. It is making us a more tempting and easier target.

Oh, by the way, Don't mention that part to Julie. I tell her some things but do keep certain bits of particularly stress inducing info from her.

Ugh, we got attacked again last night. I swear their aim is improving or their luck is. Kinda fried right now. I want to make a post but the words are all jumbled to me at the moment. I will try for later in my day here after I get some sleep. Tiernan can attest to the attack, we were using a side channel on the military chat system when the rockets started dropping on us. Now there is an iron clad excuse for going AFK!!! "Hey we're being rocketed, I got to go right now"

I'd have to check the records to be sure but i think last nights attack beats the record of the unit we are replacing. Inside of two weeks we have been attacked more times then their entire 9 months here! Not a record I was hoping for but hey, got to take pride in something I guess.

Yeah, I haven't seen Tocrat in over 2 weeks, but we're working the same shift in 2 different places, so we keep each other awake with instant messaging.

Hamner,

Not that everybody knows this, but some OOC backstory for you!

THE TEN THOUSAND ARROW TOMB
The Ten Thousand Arrow Tomb is in a glade a
hundred miles from the Jade Pleasure Dome. The glade
is peaceful and quiet, constantly cooled by a gentle
breeze. The Aerial Legion pays for its upkeep and the
salaries of the gardener spirits and minor servants who
maintain the tomb and the surrounding grounds.
The tomb itself is a simple mound of raised black
earth 10 feet high with an orichalcum marker in the
front of it. Covering the green lawn surrounding the
mound like a thousand bristles are hundreds upon hundreds
of arrows of a dozen varieties, some of them buried
feather-deep in the edge of the hill, others canted at
odd angles as if they were deflected by some force and
sent away from the hill.
A decade after the Usurpation, few if any Solar
Exalted still roamed the countrysides of Creation,
driven like foxes before the Dragon-Blooded and
their Sidereal advisors. The Ten Thousand Arrow
Tomb marks the resting place of one of the last Solar
Exalted, who stormed the very gates of Yu-Shan in
order to make his way to the Jade Pleasure Dome and
confront the Unconquered Sun himself. The Solar cut
a swath through the defenses of Yu-Shan, dispatching
lion dogs, celestial lions, huraka, war gods and
masters of combat.
Finally, a scant few miles from the edge of the limits
of Heaven’s downtown area, a dozen Sidereal elders
awaited the Solar. The sky was literally blackened with
arrows and spears sent flying at the Lawgiver, and for
long hours, he fought off the storm of deadly weapons
and Essence energies until finally, between artifacts,
Charms, sorcery, and astrology, the Solar was slain.
It is recorded that the Aerial Legion had been
ordered by one of the Five Maidens to hold back in Sky-
Spanning Awe, torn as they were between their loyalty
to their Solar superiors and their loyalty to Heaven.
When the Solar fell, the Sidereals—who had by that
point lost some of their number to the warrior—sought to
tear the corpse limb from limb and bury it in desecrated
ground, but the Aerial Legion took possession of the
body and built the tomb around it. It took decades for
the land to recover from the battle, but the legion set
aside funds to pay for its upkeep and rehabilitation and
continues to pay for its care to this day.

Sorry things have been so jumpy. Two players in and out, me vacation and then sick as a dog, its been havock, but I am trying the best I can.

PLEASE let me know if you feel neglected or if I leave something out or even if I just need to fix a gaping hole in the plot.

Jumari and Dean,

If I seem to have lost the note that told me specifically what you wanted. I think J was going after Dodge and Stealth? Hassan was going straight Melee?

If you want it to be, yes. If you want to finish it with something then go ahead.

Sure, would be a good idea to spend some XP. Your character has 9 days of down time.
