This site has the advantage that we are already here, plus a built-in die-roller.
Play@Yog-sothoth is specifically focused on Call of Cthulhu, and I've gotten emails from like five people there that are interested.
At BRP Central I can post downloads for free, and we would be the only PbP on the site. That could be cool.
So I don't know, but I appreciate your input. The more help to decide the better.
Post the background whenever you are ready. In the meantime, I am reading up about Medieval Croatia.
Heh aye aye. I'll try and pound out my background tonight.
Oh, do you have a space open for my friend? I understand if you don't though.
We do have room. I have had several express interest, but no other commitments.
Check it out: We have another approved character...
Oh great, a character with a vendetta against magic users. We should get along just fine I still have a bit more money to spend and I wouldn't mind expanding my background a tad but thats most of him.

Background Story: Born to the intellectual elite of Byzantium Gerontius was raised wealthy. Private slaves tutored trained and raised him, and his early years were filled with luxury. From a young child he expressed a desire to learn, and quickly became familiar with the vast library’s of the city, frequently disappearing for days into the deeper and deeper depths of those labyrinthine buildings. By the time he was sixteen he was set up to become the personal attendant to a high local official, from where he could raise to great power.
That is when his life took a turn for the worse. Political enemies of his family moved against them, and within several days every influential member was dead or exiled, and many children and lesser members suffered a similar fate. Gerontius almost suffered a similar fate, but was able to obtain a small position in one of the libraries, and was passed over as to insignificant to be a threat.
For six years he worked by day, and by night plied the depths of those great collections, pushing deeper and deeper into forgotten vaults, discovering long forgotten secrets. Finally, when he was twenty two he exacted his revenge. One by one, those who had ruined him and his family began to die. Simple deaths, mostly their throats cut in their sleep. It seemed that no amount of guards could prevent the death.
After his vendetta was fulfilled, Gerontius was at a loss of what to do. He spent several more years studying in secret, sure that his crimes would not be discovered, but finally they began to catch up with him, for he was not the only one in the great city to know of the occult. Strange voices began to pester him. Odd creatures began to flit through is periphery. Finally, one night, deep in the stacks of the royal library, a creature appeared from the depths of hell. He fled. By the next day he was off, driven away from the greatest city in the world and his home...

Good news and bad news
I've got some good news and some bad news....
The good news is that I am ready to start playing when you are. I have an idea for how to integrate your character in with the rest of the group. I am going to start all of the characters out on solo adventures (just like I did with Jiangu). Your solo adventure will start in Constantinople, and the solo story will lead you to Croatia.
The bad news is that the forum is set up on another site- Yog-Sothoth.com. I know you preferred to keep it here at ORP.com. But I have gotten way more responses to my ad at YogSothoth than the ad I posted at ORP.
Here is the link: http://www.callofcthulhu.org.uk/view...86c287d32b45d1
Go ahead and post your character there. Make sure to conceal his religion!
I will post a solo thread with an intro post shortly.
Heh ok, sorry I didn't get to it, I actually had a ruff set up, it was pretty simple, just that he wandered around for a while working as a general scribe and discoverin stuff, and came into the king of croatia's service through reputation and his need of an educated man, but I'm down to work with whatever you got. I'll go make an acount n'stuff right now.
