Or the fact that VB uses old html 1.0 markup (<b>) instead of the most updated standards (<strong>).

Although, if you enabled html postings I could do stuff like importing stylesheets and it would completely change the layout the page when somebody viewed a page with a post of mine on it...that would be epic....

Write post in word/notepad/etc.
That's fine at home, but I do a lot of posting at work on old network machines. It's inconvenient, but it's better than working.

BLC, For the love of whatever God you believe in, I hope you are not being serious.

If I would allow html, I'd effectively be hanging out a big sign with ALL passwords painted on it.

And I'll be pedantic and point out that <strong> is NOT an updated standard for <b>. The actual "update" is style="font-weight:bold". <strong> is intended to be used for semantics, most browsers chose to represent it by displaying it in bold font.

Sure html would open up a world of horrible exploits and potential stupidity but then we wouldn't have to use an editor which sometimes gets a bit confused! Or learn the incredibly simple BB markup!

THIS IS LIKE FASCIST NEW ZEALAND

That's the latest CSS standard, not HTML standard. HTML just goes with the latest CSS trends to be cool

Either way, back to the original point - underlines are broken when using different text colors.

It's because you have the underline tag first, then the color tag:

Underline, then color

Color, then underline

I like this. Just like microsoft you say... 'Report Bugs' and then when reported you say 'It's broken so don't use it.'

I'm not hating, just laughing along with you.
