Any suggestions for me with Icarus? I didn't have much to go with before so I just sorta went with my instinct and what I'd gleaned through all of Eternal's posts till he left.

Frankly I think it looks good... I don't remember what Icarus was doing before you took him over, and I don't feel like going back and re reading all the old posts right now. I especially like the Lunar-feel you use, it's nice to see.

(one of my favorite types of Exalted are the Lunars)

Hey Everybody,

Just wanted to chime in on the state of things. Firstly, nobody had any qualms with the one-week rule so i'm going to go ahead and put that right into effect.

Secondly, as far as the passage-of-time idea, that's going to happen too, just as soon as things resolve in our current situation. I'd like you all to think about what your characters would do with this time. I'll be handing out experience, so keep improvements in mind. Based on your responses, i'll churn out a length of time that seems appropriate. It could be as short as half a year, or as long as 5 years, or even more. It really depends on what you guys would like. I'd be happy to settle somewhere around 1 year, but we'll play that by ear.

Thirdly, we'll be moving to 2nd edition after the lapse of time. Solars, all you really need to worry about is your charms. Lunars, you're going to have a nice trip with the character conversion. If any of you need any help with that, feel free to catch me on AIM or whatever. I'll help you through it.

Also, as he himself has noted, it seems we'll be losing Relentless in this move, as he has qualms with 2nd. Relentless, you're very welcome to stay, but it's your decision. I'll be sorry to see you go.

Don't 2nd Edition Solars start with 28 ability points while 1st edition Solars start with 25?

Just bringing it up.

Just a few things about my post, mostly to couch. First, I just thought I should point out, in case we'd forgotten, that Kheervis doesn't have a saddle or reins on at the moment, so Silver Wind and Tiden are riding bareback. Second, I apologize to couch if I was tool liberal with Tiden concerning his riding capabilities. I thought having it this way would make the situation more awkwa--interesting.

Finally, if anyone is outside (which i think is everyone now...) they can probably see all three of them (Silver Wind, Tiden, Kheervis) further down the road unless Erendiox says otherwise.

So what changes would I need to make to shift my Lunar to 2nd ed? Just hypothetically.

Are the ability points different? I didn't realize. In that case, obviously, the Solars will make that change when the time comes.

Relentless, changing your lunar to 2nd would be almost like making a new character. As far as the mechanics, that's what everyone is going to have to do. They've changed everything. I haven't been able to make a side-by-side comparison yet, but it seems like they get fewer ability points, fewer charms, and more attribute points. Also their charms are completely revamped, as well is deadly beastman transformation. Gifts no longer exist and they changed how the whole thing works. You'd need to have the book. No way around that.

Actually Red, I think 1e Solars had 28 points as well. I'm not 100% sure, but I think that the character creation rules for Solars did not change whatsoever between 1e and 2e.

As for you Relentless, I don't have access to the Lunar book at the moment, so I can get back to you later this evening, or Red can if he beats me to the punch. Either way, what I can tell you is that Lunars have seen some sweeping changes. (EDIT: Erendiox has pretty much laid it all out there)

Anyhoo, I believe Gorthas and Icarus are off in nearby wooded area, or behind a building, or something.

Speaking of which, Xaden, this is a preliminary warning of sorts >.>. After reading your post, I had a wave of inspiration hit me, and I'm gonna roll with it. I won't be posting till later tonight (as I need to confirm some things in the Lunar book), but....
You know the phrase "put between a rock and a hard spot?" Well, switch both "rock" and "hard spot" with the word "diamond," and that'll about sum things up for how Gorthas might end up feeling .

EDIT: Erendiox is right for the most part, except that I believe Lunars actually had more Attribute points in 1e (9/7/5 in 1e, 8/6/4 in 2e).

Damnit, I dont have the monies or access to either the Exalted 2e main or lunar book. I really don't want to leave the game, maybe I can just skip the combat or something. I just really dislike the new way combat is done.

Instead of rolling, you could simply have Kami hear what you think she'd hear. Social scenes between player characters are driven more by roleplay and less by dice. At the very least, I'd personally have Kami hear muffled bits of the first part of Gorthas's post, and most if it not all of the second part. Her senses would be more keen in cat form, so that would play its part.

You can roll dice if you like to do that, I'm just saying its not absolutely necessary. Of course, in the end its your choice >.>

Actually in the end it's my choice.

Dice aren't needed here. Just assume Kami heard most, if not all of it. Definitely enough to understand their viewpoints on the matter. As Dave said, this kind of situation is driven primarily by roleplaying, not dice.

I'm just glad one of the options isn't tear into Gorthas! Does that mean she's actually starting to think he might be half-way decent?

No, that can't be it.

What Gorthas said to her (this time) made good sense and she's a bright girl, hardly one to get upset over common sense, though she's curious about what the hell having bat wings and a scorpion's tail has to do with anything.

EDIT: And I really don't want to leave this game, its fun! Just that everyone and GM want to go to 2nd ed and I dont have the funds to get my hands on the books right now.
