Hm...I'm going to ask for your OK on an RP choice. I want to make my character old (153, exactly). -3 each to Str, Dex, and Con. +2 to Int, Wis, and Cha. Here's what I came up with:

Str: 12 - 2 (race) - 3 (age) = 7 -2
Dex: 11 - 3 (age) = 8 -1
Con: 15 + 2 (race) - 3 (age) = 14 +2
Int: 14 + 2 (age) = 16 +3
Wis: 8 + 2 (age) = 10 0
Cha: 18 + 2 (age) = 20 +5

Do you think it's too much? I chose 'old' over 'middle-aged' to avoid powergaming.

You know... somehow I think we might be needing a cleric who can cast Silence.

looks pretty good paradox, though I did find one oversight. You should add your Strength Score to your rapier, dagger, and even your dart (because it is thrown). So their damage should be 1d4-2, 1d3-2 (which will amount to 1), and 1d3-2 (again, 1) respectively. Again, everything else looks good. It is obvious that we will be leaving you out of combat, though your songs should buff us consideably and your charisma should make you the group representative in any social situations.

Oops. Thanks for catching that.

Do you think a puppetry (rather than music) based bard is a bad idea? It's something I've wanted to try for some time now.

Only problem I see is it could be a bit awkward to break out the props when trying to inspire/persuade people as to just breaking out into a cappella.

Lol. I didn't even notice that. Guess I didn't look THAT closely. It is definetly an interesting, and potentially humerous, idea.

That's why I took Perform (Oratory) too. For combat situations, he'll be a storyteller.

Flagg, seeing how this is your own little world, what would be your suggested languages to know?

The world will have all the usual languages, and any character would have had access to the well known library in town where there are many books in many languages.

All right, the party has spice, the characters are looking good. I will spend some time laying out the new forum and post back here when its ready.
I've been slammed with work this week, running on seven of eight...

Cool. I'll go Common and Undercommon for languages. Never know when you may run into a drow underneath a mountain...

As for the forums, yeah once you get more info up I will begin to finalize my background. hopefully we can finish up quickly so we can begin playing soon. The group we have looks like a lot of fun.

The ooc thread in the new forum is open, let's move discussions over there.

To everyone else there is one opening left. Post interest here in the CA thread.

I'd be interested in joining up. I've got a copy of the PHB, though I don't remember which ed. it is. Should be up to date. Been a while since I played, but I'm definitely interested.

Hey Shwingles, look at the characters already completed in the Dock atop Dry land Forum and figure out what race/class you want to play, work up a character and backstory, then let me know via the ooc thread when you're got the pc ready. Try to get it done this weekend if possible.

I don't suppose you have room for another? An' if you do, can we use some none core books? Like Comnplete Warrior?

Annawtnodi since seven is a lucky number, welcome aboard! I don't have the complete warrior, but if you can get me the rules for what you'd like to try I'll look them over to see If it'll fly. But for first level let's stick to the core classes.
Work up your character and backstory, be sure to include the name of your hometown if you're not from Porthem. Post it in the character subforum in the Dock Forum.
We'll be starting soon, so try to have your PC ready this weekend.

Two of our players have been missing for some time. However we're only seeking one replacement. The game details can be found in this thread. There is also more information in the actual game thread. The Dock atop Dry Land.

We seek a rogue for the party.

If you are interested and are willing to post without vanishing, work up a character background and pm me. If there is more than one person interested I'll be forced to pick the best concept.
