Not having a good 2nd lvl witchcraft enchantment spell is making want to reconsider taking Spell Focus - Enchantment altogether.
It is an Enchantment spell. I think it is still one of the slightly weaker 2nd level spells, though. Perhaps Gral allows you to enhance the spell a bit.

Also, I've re-flavored THL for one of my characters into people not laughing, but choking. I like the spell much more, it is less comical. If Gral agrees, you might prefer another visual to go with the spell's mechanical effect.

Oh, it is an enchantment spell? Like I said, I couldn't find it online so I just assumed it was necromancy. I will definitely have to look into it! Modified THL is also a good idea.

Black Karma Curse: without giving too much away - you make an opponent hit himself successfully (once) unless they save. I don't it fits what you want for Kazmin (although it's a great witch-fit) if you're after something which lets you get away.

... maybe you should take obscuring mist as a 1st level spell. Or get a wand with that spell.

... concerning the two spells you mention - the second one is a 3rd level sorc/wiz spell. It's Gral's call, but normally you should use the sorc/wiz spell level as a guideline for the witch imo. The bard level is a little lower every now and then - but bard spell progression is even slower than that of the sorcerer.

Disquietude is a bard spell normally, but I think it's a rather good fit for Kazmin. You could even refluff it to fit Kazmin the witch even better.

Of the two, Disquietude is my favorite. I'm not sure why, but I like it.

I really didn't have much time after Saturday morning to work on things. I've written up some background but I'm not ready to post it yet.

Sorry for the delay, I've been busy. I'm just trying to finish up some basic world building type stuff and then we can get started. At any rate, I've got a half-finished calendar brewing - it's an odd mash-up of the Dark Sun calendar and the Lankhmar Calendar. I should have it finished soon. And there are two moons, which I will name shortly.

Moon 1 and moon 2. Or big moon, small moon. Red moon, blue moon. Ask me, I'm good with names.

Yes, it works out nicely with this calendar program I have. I should be able to tell you what phase the moons are in, when they rise and set, etc. Which probably won't ever really matter but well, I'm allowed my petty diversions .

We'll talk about the moons the whole time. And our XP total will go up incredibly fast. Moons and mooning. Awesome topics.

We'll make it matter.

That could some sort of motto for our group to-be.

So, I'm going to try to go over everyone's sheets today and make sure that they look okay, with the exception of Mal (who isn't near done) and Tash (who's sheet I've already gone over). If there is anything that anyone needs from me, let me know .

I've still got a few details to nail down, but I feel like I'm getting a handle on this character idea.

Anyone got any suggestions for my last feat?

Is that a feat? It should be.

Once I've finished my character, I can think a little on that last feat of yours, BP. Do you also want some advice on magic items (you don't have access to the magic item compendium, right? If you do, please tell me what sort of magic items you'd be interested in)?

Reading the backgrounds etc. of all the characters... (I haven't been doing this all along - too much to do to get my own character ready!) What an interesting group we are! I'm really excited about getting started.

All I have access to are the SRD and the indexes from Crystal Keep, so any advice on magic items is greatly appreciated.

The magic item compendium has hundreds of them...
... it would help greatly if you could tell me what sort of items you'd prefer.

Utility (movement and so on)?
Protection/Defensive?
Offensive?
Other?

Sorry. Hit post before I finished writing.

Besides the usual bevy of offensive and defensive items, I'd like to focus on items which enable the character to overcome/bypass physical obstacles to movement and observation. I.e. I want the character to be able to move pretty much where ever he wants and to be able to see/hear what ever he wants.

Anklet of Translocation (1400): swift action to teleport 10 ft. twice per day

Belt of Battle (12000): extra actions probably too expensive

Third Eye Aware (10000): +10 bonus on spot (can be tuned down, perhaps, with DM consent, to make it cheaper)

There are many more. There are also threads in several forums, which your favorite search engine may reveal if you pass the search check.

That anklet looks pretty good.

The third eye, is rather expensive, but reminds me to look at the various goggles.

I suppose I should also check out the item creation formulas and the spells that grant various vision enhancements (darkvision, see invisibility, true seeing, etc.) to see about possible custom items.

For now we only have 5400 gp at our disposal so finding things isn't that easy. A few more suggestions:

Quicksilver boots: 2/day, swift action activation, move up to your land speed - even across water and other liquids - you take AoOs normally, but your form is 'blurry' (I guess 20% concealment). That's in addition to your normal standard and move action, obviously.
3500 gp

Darkvision/see invi/true seeing: look at the scout's headband (in my character folder - he has it) - srd stuff is too expensive

If you want low-light vision or darkvision, you could still take a different race (if that fits your concept). Then you'd lose the open feat slot which are having a hard time to fill and the bonus skill points, but will get other nice bonuses.
3500 gp IIRC

How about the Ring of Four winds - protection and movement:
Immediate action activation - +2 deflection bonus to AC or feather fall
4 times per day
=> I'd say it'd be awesome to simply jump down a cliff if want to get down somewhere or if you're being followed, wouldn't it? And an immediate action deflection bonus doesn't hurt either.
2000 gp

Rock boots are nice as well. You get a +4 bonus to strength checks made against being bull rushed or tripped (while standing on the ground) and five times per day (free action activation) you can move across difficult terrain without additional movement costs.
2000 gp

Finally, chronocharm of the horizon walker. Swift action activation 1/day to move half your speed without provoking AoOs (movement is part of the swift action).
500 gp

Honestly, build the characters how you see fit but I wouldn't get too caught up in trying to cover every single weakness. This game is likely about story, and I'm not particularly cruel. Weaknesses ought to be fun, not disabling.

Also, I likely won't be around much the next day or two, but things should get underway promptly after that.
