It's all the bold code in weird places that mucked it up. I bet you use the WYSIWYG thingy.
Ah, I think I got it now... thanks, but admittedly I am still curious what you mean with the WYSIWYG thingy?

Sounds dangerous...

Pay attention folks, I have added a sanity-check to further prevent cheating; if someone rolls a lot of dice in one post, then quickly edits the post before the "Edited by ..." message appears and removes all rolls but the one with a desired result, a nice blue warning message now appears...

Just so you know I actually do work on this site (Recently I've been working on a groundshattering new feature which will make me famous and irresistable to the ladies... Ok, maybe not the last bit...)

There is an inconsistency with the number of dierolls in this post due to editing!

WHYSIWYG seems to be the default one now for some reason, and it plus people not knowing what they are doing is the most common cause for the dice rolls not working.

There is an inconsistency with the number of dierolls in this post due to editing!

Or would it be d6 d4's? Might be a fun way to design an RPG.

Thanks for that addition too, LeeCheSSS. Even though I didn't know you could do that.

One could call that naive...

Though I've yet to see a post where that message shows up (besides testposts)...

What on EARTH are you trying SinbadEV??

Please tell me you're trying to find hidden features, instead of having extreme difficulties grasping this concept...

Hmm...
[roll]d-3[/roll]

I don't expect that to work, but hey.

[roll].5d4[/roll]
Or that.

[roll]d2.3[/roll]

Edit: It appears your system cannot handle fractional dice, Mr. Admin Guy. Danny? Worm-head-dude?

Nor negative-style dice.

And it appears a d0 gives you a result of... 1?

Hmm.

Ok, how would a half dice look like, or a dice with 2.3 faces, and negative die???
I'm not even going to bother trying to get that to work.

The fact that a d0 returns 1 is related to the way random numbers are generated in php. Reality would have trouble with a dice with 0 faces anyway.

A dice with 2.3 faces would get you a result of 1 10/23 of the time, a result of 2 10/23 of the time, and a result of 3 3/23 of the time.

Maybe?

Does that make any sense?

.5 face... I'm thinking it'll get you a result of 1 1/2 the time, and... not sure what else.

0 face... gets you a 0.

Negative faces... um... I don't know you tell me?

No, you cannot get a result other than an integer when rolling with a dice. Simply because you cannot have a partial face.

Not entirely true. I had a d20 that got chipped and had three of its sides that were effectively partial faces. I actually used this dice for quite awhile before I discovered that it was broken.

I actually wanted to use negative dice, but I have a way around it.
