I am a d20 snot, and proud of it. I even have d20 Call of Cthulhu!

But if I understand correctly, this fudge system only uses rolls to get results of -1, 0 and +1?? Sounds like a silly system...

In d20, DCs commonly go from 10 (or 0) to around 30 or 40 (or higher).

In fudge, they go from -2 to 6 or something - it's just a different scale.

I'm using the FATE rules, which are based on fudge. The scale goes from -4 to +7. In general, the idea is that the dice will give you a bell curve result in a small range, so you have a good idea of whether or not you will succeed at a given task.

Damn I think I just spent twenty dollers on all kinds of Dice for no good reason. I also think twenty dollers for fifty odd dice is a lot. Or maybe I'm a cheap bastard...still cool feature though...

Considering that you bought school food, you can't possibly be that cheap of a bastard. The dice will come in handy. I still use them here, in fact.

LeeCheSSS, glad to see the dice working out. Have you made any other enhancements or changes I can integrate back in? I read through some of the requests about Fudge mechanics (-1,0,+1) and being able to put multiple rolls inside of one tag (e.g. [roll]4d6+1d10+1d20[/roll]). You guys are getting much more use out of this than I am on my forums, so I'll hang out here a while and see about integrating some changes you might need.

That is, if you're interested. Great site by the way!

Just looking at the diceroller acronym

Just looking to see the acronym usage on the dice output here:

5
[rollo]6d6[/rollo]
[rollv]10d6[/rollv]

Hrm, no open rolls or vectors I guess. I have both of these working on mine, were they not "debugged" on the hack I sent you LeeCheSSS?

I disabled them actually. I've made it so rolls are always "open"; I don't actually know any system that uses "vector" rolls...

"Open" and "vector" refer to what now?

Well. "Open" means that when rolling, you always reroll any die that comes up with the max of that die (e.g. reroll 6's when rolling xd6). Not every system uses open rolls. The idea of the "vector" (meaning array or series of things) was to be able to see all the results of each die rolled, rather than just the sum. In my original version of the code, the [roll] tag would show the roll (i.e. 2d10, 4d6, etc.) and then the result or sum of the rolls only. If you wanted to see each die's result as well as the sum, you used the [rollv] tag. So a vector roll isn't really any different than a regular roll, just a different way of seeing the results.

I'm working on building in natural Fudge mechanics at the moment, too. Ideally, it will work with each of the roll tags, but you can specify the type of roll as 1df, 2df, etc, along with modifiers, so you could say 4df+2. A roll of 1df would of course produce the usual Fudge results of either -1, 0 or 1 with any modifiers applied.

Wait... you mean there're systems where the max of the die is always rerolled?

Schwa??

Well, I suppose it must have some sort of use.

And it appears we already use vector rolls then. That makes sense.

Wait, he made all rolls open? No wonder nobody is rolling maximum rolls...

There is an inconsistency with the number of dierolls in this post due to editing!

Technically Shadowrun's d6 system uses open rolls. The successive rolls are added to the initial roll.

2
2
1
2
1
2
2
2
1
1
2
1
2
1
2
2
2
2

If any of those are 2 then it's possible to roll the max.

I really like seeing the results vector style. No technical reason for it, I guess it just makes me feel more like I'm really rolling dice or something.

Well I like the sound of that .

Possible yes, just less likely, since the first time you roll max it rerolls for you. I would like that changed.

I rolled more twos in that last batch than 1s. Probability would predict a 50/50 split. As is, the system seems to be weighted for higher rolls.

But to convince you, let's test this again with a larger die size.
