The board limit is in effect for the number of images per post - which means you cannot have more than 10 images in a post. The more astute will glean that this is the reason I needed to split things up into several posts.
Out of curiosity, is it possible to raise that limit to, say, 15? With five or six PCs and a map, that doesn't leave a lot of room for enemy tokens.

I'll second Merc's suggestion. If it isn't possible or desirable, there are some ways around it, but it will change the look of my combat maps somewhat.

Ten images is a lot.

Orp's mainly an old school, wall of text rpg place, and ten images is a lot - that's all the fingers and thumbs on both your hands, look at them all - and we don't want Orp to turn into an image heavy forum.

Plus to be honest, in my personal opinion, using text for tokens seems to look fine.

So, it turns out circles are really easy to implement:

Just add a "c" after the token size and it will come up circular. In the above example, my "token" is:

I got an email that Gral posted, but I don't see it. I tried the bit I read in the email summary for adding circular tokens and I'm all set now. My concerns about tokens and image increases are largely alleviated. I'll just use images for the big bads and let mooks be circular tokens with letter designations.

I have ideas for triangles, but those require a bit of a kludge. And more than likely you'll want to be able to rotate them freely so there is a bit more work (and thinking) involved.

I took a course for a GIS program (geographical information system) last year and the - elderly - instructor always told us to "first think, then click".

You just reminded me of him, Gral.

Okay, so let me explain rotation and shapes a little more clearly. To understand how it works, you have to understand that each "shape" is really occupying a rectangular box. Here are the shapes (in red) with the corresponding box (in grey):

And here are the token parameters:
[token=c3 squares=6x3 shape=square color=red fade=50][/token]
[token=c10 squares=6x3 shape=circle color=red fade=50][/token]
[token=j3 squares=6x3 shape=triangle color=red fade=50][/token]
[token=j10 squares=6x3 shape=cone color=red fade=50][/token]

The triangle and cone are always set with the origin point on the left and the termination of the cone on the right. In order for these shapes to originate in the top left corner of the square specified in the token parameter, the containing box is automatically shifted upward by half the height of the shape.

Rotation is based on the center point of the left side of the containing rectangle. Since we've shifted this up half a block for triangles and cones, that point is on the origin of the triangle (ie. the top left corner of the origin square). Rotation for squares and circles is thus going to be the mid point of the left side. So if I rotate everything 45 degrees here is what you get:

Now, those are just default options and I'm not particularly married to them if it turns out something else is more intuitive.

So picture a particular square on the grid. For our purposes, I'm identifying 9 different points on that square:
  • tl - Top Left
  • tc - Top Center
  • tr - Top Right
  • l - Left
  • c - Center
  • r - Right
  • bl - Bottom Left
  • bc - Bottom Center
  • br - Bottom Right

You can see their locations on the center square of the grid below:

Currently the origin point for your token defaults to tl. However, you can specify an origin point for your token by adding a colon after your token position. So to say you want the origin point of your token to be the bottom left of square B3, you would put:
