Haha I was so close to suggest Sandpoint

And that does sound as if someone is looking for a RotRL game.

Yeah, I'm playing Tree's RotR game, that's where all those strange posts came from. And why, I most absolutely not be running the game in Sandpoint, probably not in Varisia.

since I don't have pathfinder yet (getting it this weekend hopefully) I was thinking that my character could be the noob who accidentally brought his D&D 3.5 gear and made a Pathfinder character off of D&D material making him totally out of place in the world until he some how converts his stats to the right setting. My In game character would be a half elf rouge who had some sort of mental disease but loved to mess with people's minds because he is very quick witted.

we should use the text format so it is easier for cheese to edit and for other players to view.

Dabocim, I think we'll at least be experimenting with the PDF format for now. If it becomes too annoying, or if we start making thousands of edits, I'll probably convert you all to plain text.

As to your player - I like the idea of a noob to Pathfinder, but you should know that the stats will all be in Pathfinder format from the start. Your player might not understand them though, and think he's working with his original 3.5 character, which could lead to comical results.

Merbak and Grimtina, I assume you guys are still working on your sheets. No pressure at all, take all the time you need, just wanted to confirm.

Completed PDFs can be attached to a thread in "The Players" forum, under your PLAYER's name (not Character). The body of the thread should be the background of the Player (and character if you have some).

The PDF format won't be able to be attached because the character sheet requires too much memory. I actually really like the PDF format much better than text format but it won't fit

Hmm... Okay guys stand by. I'll look into getting a site I can host them on that we can link to. If you want to start emailing me the info, you can send them to: Gone.

That's an easy fix, we can flex things so long as the end .pfd isn't unreasonable in size.

I think it's a little under a megabyte in size.
I am looking into using Isuu though (got the idea from Mercutio)

I'm liking Isuu.
Here's the pdf template that I can link to. Also, I can do what Mercutio did for RotR and embed them all in Blogger. I'll fiddle around tonight and let you know tomorrow.

Edit: Here's that same pdf template, hosted on a minimalistic blog. It's easy enough to host these, now that I get how, so you can just email me the sheets, and I'll host them. If you have an Issuu account (I'd recommend it - it's free, easy-to-use, and useful as hell), you can share it with me there, and I'll add it to the blog. My handle there is explosivecheese.

Grim, try the Blogger link, you shouldn't need anything special for that.

Got it, Dabocim, but there are some things you need to fix before I upload this.

First, abilities. You seem to have spent too many points. Here are the ranks you put in, disregarding racial modifiers, and their point values:
16: 10 points
16: 10 points
13: 3 points
16: 10 points
13: 3 points
12: 2 points

This adds to 38 points, and you have only 25 points available. Take a look at the point buy system. Also, elves get +2 to int in Pathfinder, in addition to the dex and con changes.
Next skills.
Skills in Pathfinder are different; you get less ranks to spend, but each rank is worth more. I suggest you read the rules on Pathfinder Skills.
As a rogue, you have 8 + (Int mod) skill points to distribute.

More fixes to come tomorrow. In the meantime, look into what I've told you about.
Also, take a look at the Rogue and Elf pages in the SRD.

Darn. It seems it is a bit more different from D&D than I thought.

More fixes for Dabocim. This time, class details.
Favoured Class works a bit different in Pathfinder - You get to choose one, independent of race (unless you're a human or half-elf, in which case you get two), and whenever you take a level in a Favoured Class, you can gain a bonus HP or Skill Point, your choice. Assuming you take Rogue as your Favoured Class, this means you get to choose an extra HP or Skill Point for first level as well. There's a space on the template to record your Favoured Class.
Also, there's a space on the template to record your BAB, Base Save Bonues, Level, and skill points earned from your class. Fill this up, according to the rogue table linked to above. If you need help, let me know.

In the skills part of the template, you should check all skills that are class skills - you get a +3 bonus on trained class skills. Otherwise, class and cross-class skills work the same - they cost the same amount and give the same advantage.

For Initiative, just put in your Dex mod.

Also, I'd appreciate it if you replaced the asterisks with x's in the crit-multiplier and ammo count parts of your weapons. And add a slash in between the crit-range and the crit-multiplier. This is just to make it easier for me to read the format.

Also, in the Feats and Features section, you should copy all the racial traits for elves. This includes a +2 perception bonus, immunity to sleep effects, elven blood, and a few others, all located on the Elf page of the SRD, linked above.

For equipment and gold, don't start buying yet, 'cause I'm thinking of changing the way it's gonna start. You might start with almost nothing (though probably at least a weapon and armour, or several small weapons and no armour). If you start with almost nothing, I'll make sure you get supplied in the beginning. I've got some ideas forming.

For examples of completed level one Pathfinder characters, check out this blog. There are six characters there, the characters from the RotR game I'm in. A selection of a human, 3 half-elves, an elf, and a gnome, and a barbarian, paladin, sorcerer, wizard, bard, and ranger. Fairly comprehensive. For any races or classes that you want to play that aren't covered there, check the SRD. If you still have questions feel free to ask me, but I'm about as new as you to Pathfinder, so I'll likely have to learn on the go as well.
Also note: you get a feat every odd level (fighters' bonus feats effectively give them a feat every level, with two at first level). I think this is different from 3.5 (you get at 1,3,6,9, etc. there, right?)

Oh! Dabocim, I forgot to mention that at level 1 you can only put up to one rank in each skill. At each level the skill cap is equal to your character level.

Basically, at first level, you don't get 4 times the skill points, you get as many as you would at later levels. Also, skill caps are lower. The plus side is that cross-class skills are much easier to raise (cost the same), class skills get a one time +3 bonus the first time you put a rank in them, and several skills have been combined (perception covers spot/listen, stealth covers hide/move silently, etc.).
Reorganize your skills, and I'll handle the few minor details left on your character sheet, then I'll upload it.
Don't worry about not understanding the skill system much yet - that's your players shtick. I'll be correcting you in-game as we go along, and you can have your player react all "wtf!?" as much as you want.
