Do I take it the rest of you are content to sit and nurse your pints like a bunch of old men?
Maybe it's just me, but I've been getting a lot of server errors from ORP in the past couple of days. So, yeah, I'll go with that solution, the old man one.

Just to be clear, I'm waiting to get the results of my Gather Information check, then I'll do lots of other stuff.

One other thing, I've been following along with the posting conventions of the group, but should I post my actions OOC in the main thread, making my rolls here of course? I guess I'm worried that my roll could be overlooked, even though I've made a lot of terrible rolls lately.

Generally its a good bet to keep actions in the IC thread as far as possible, posting clarifications in the OOC thread if necessary. I don't see a problem with sticking the rolls at the bottom of the IC post though.

The reason I'm not handling the conversation myself is because I'm about to leave for a two week vacation. I've already let T.A. know some time ago.

One other thought I had, though, is that Balar and I could try to get into the alley behind the merchant to block off any escape route. Without a map or a clear sense of how things are laid out I don't know how practical that would be.... DM?

I think I'd make you pass a Knowledge/Local check first, or you'll probably get lost. Plus, on current form getting Balar to do anything so subtle may prove problematic.

I'm going to be away this weekend again, but I'll try to squeeze in an update on friday before I go, assuming scythe gets his response in.

Balar isn't really dumb. He's just ignorant and uncharismatic. You need to explain things to him because he grew up in a barbarian village without such things as alleyways and whatnot.

What are you playing?

If you're looking for a good third person shooter try Rogue Trooper... Though actually, you should get the PC version so I have someone to play with multiplayer.

Gears of Wars and Call of Duty 4... though I fell in love with Bad Company.

Oh, the HeX-Box 360, I thought you meant the original.

Hm, it's interesting how EA seems to be finally starting to get over it's aversion to creativity. Bad company looked... weird. Which is saying something for an EA game. How's it stack up though? Isn't that the one where you have to pay for the guns separately in multiplayer or some stupidity?

O.K. so when I come back in 2 weeks I expect you guys will have kicked ass and taken names. Guard Malachi with your life!

Scythe: I've been playing a lot of Bad Company, but on PS3. Very addictive.

See you all in 2 weeks!

I'm not sure what I could add to this situation, so Darriel is just going to tag along with Balar. His osprey is flying overhead, watching for trouble around the party, but not looking for anything specific.

As far as I can make out, we've got an estimate but no orders.

Can somebody turn this lovely OOC planning into an IC post please? At the moment I'm not entirely sure who's doing what, where and in what circumstances.

Well it looks like Lionel's been landed with command of this one, so once your hangover has abated just stick up an IC post telling the others where they need to be and I'll take it from there. I'll be wanting knowledge-Local rolls from somebody (probably you) to make sure nobody gets lost.

Would I be able to, say, cast Detect Thoughts on the merchant, but still be able to talk normally, even if I have to concentrate (since talking is a free action right)

Maintaining a conversation whilst simultaneously casting a difficult piece of magic (on the person you're talking to) without arousing suspicion?

Sounds like some hardcore multi-tasking to me. I'll let you try it, but there'll be a hefty penalty on it.

Isn't anyone going to talk to the nice man? I'm actually in this weekend, so we might even get to the combat.

Er... I mean... if there is combat of course.

There may not be. Ahem.

Balar has decided that the talking should be left to the tactful.
