Oh, right, there was a rope! If there are no handholds, Tripster would use that instead.

Also, I'm not sure it helps in any mechanical way anyway.
Well, it's up to Merc as a DM to give us bonus if he thinks its warranted. Surely there's a difference between just pushing forwards against the wind and pushing and pulling yourself forwards?

Mmm, seems appropriate as the climb skill has rules for adjudicating the use of ropes and bracing yourself against walls (/floors). But I can see the wind as causing problems regardless, so, meh...

Well I figure "climbing" along the hallway against the force of the wind couldn't be any harder than actually climbing up a wall, against gravity.

Any who object to me using darkness speak and hellfire can put the stone in his pocket effectively negating the power

I think I might just hand-wave the rest of this room since it's bogging us down. In tabletop play this scene is more cerebral and less combat-centered and that doesn't translate well in PBP games.

I sent a PM to Krypton.

Why not just fast-forward to the point where it becomes more clear what's going on/what we're supposed to do?
At the moment the only tactic I can imagine working is for everyone to bunch up near the hole and ready attacks, which would involve a whole lot of missing and waiting. I assume there's a better choice, I just can't see what we'd do. You indicated it would be clearer next round anyway.

Val's thinking the same thing. "There's obviously a trick to this" etc.

Yeah, this is a trick room, and it's not nearly as clear what should happen (and tbh it's not very well written). Basically, as soon as the party all gets to the bigger area on the right, the goblins launching the little airplanes give up without a fight and turn off the wind tunnel fans.

I figured it would be something like that, but basically the behavior of the goblins is mostly irrelevant.

Yeah. If I thought they could have hit anyone, one of the suggested things to have them sling at you is a tanglefoot bag and then a pillow or bag of feathers.

I don't know where my map for the next room has made it to, so I'll be recreating that this weekend.

Yeah. I didn't remotely see how Tricks would have been useful without blowing the rest of his spell load, which didn't seem optimal.

I was planning on just hiding behind the giant until something changed and it became more obvious.

I promise I'm not flaking out. I'll get this puppy restarted this week. Prepping for a third course (shortened by 4 weeks) has taken a lot more time than I thought it would. It wasn't as simple as just cutting out a paper (I wish) because I'm supposed to cover the same amount of material in 11 weeks that I normally cover in 15.

We'll be moving right into another room (well, I'll skip from this one to the finish and the door opening for the next one) by Friday afternoon. I've got the room mapped, and just need to write up the between stuff.

There might be, but those rolls aren't going to cut it. I'll wait for a few other people to post and then get right into the update after that. Hopefully early next week at the latest.

If Razor Charlie enters with just a move action can he use his standard action to just observe (spot/listen) or are you doing it as just reactive checks because we aren't in combat round actions yet?

You can actively look whenever you want, but I'll be rolling initiative soon anyway. Val's Spot and Listen checks aren't going to do much. I have to recheck against Tripster's roll, but I don't think it's good enough either.

Alright, I will post something tomorrow. I'd do it today but it's my 10th anniversary, so I'll be busy with that instead.
