[OOC] Player Discussion

Players are free to discuss topics and ask questions related to the game herein. If, for any reason, a player finds himself unable to post for a period of time, please let me know through the use of this thread, so that I can plan around your absence.

After being accepted for the game, I would ask that players post their Character Sheets in the Player Area of the game forum. I will make each thread private once it's been posted, so that only myself and the player in question can view the information.

Shakes, I'm in the process of modifying my thread so that it's like what you wanted.

Also, did you see those HP rolls? How freakin' awesome!

The campaign -- set 3,500 years before the Rise of Vader, and 300 years after the events of Knights of the Old Republic -- will be of the "Something in Between" style of play (SAGA Edition Rulebook,pg 241).

For the six players who I'm currently inducting into the game (Explosive Cheese, Ergonomic Cat, Krypton, Pulse495, Dabocim, and AoM), I'd like you to post your statistics in the requested format into the Player Area. I'll give each sheet a more thorough look through then; once everyone's okayed, I'll get the game moving.

Shakes, how do I compute my Initiative? I'm trained in the initiative skill, and have a DEX of 16.

And my Perception (trained, WIS 14)? This seems to be a slightly different form of d20 than what I'm used to...

Both are Skills, so the total is calculated as follows:
Character Level/2 (round down) + 5 (if trained) + Attribute Modifier
Also, I have a question, since my mind's turned up blank for some strange reason: I know that heroic class Defence Bonuses don't stack, but do prestige class Defence Bonuses add to the total, or replace the heroic class bonuses?

Thanks!

Well, I just replaced for Arnold. I think that's more consistent, but I didn't read a particular rule anywhere. If I come across it, I'll let you know.

I don't have the book open, but I know that the rules are on 153 of the main book. Give me a few minutes and I'll go and get the hardback.

Whew. Finally done revising Arnold's sheet. Now I just need to do a Bio and a Possession list...

I won't be able to fully okay everyone's sheet until I either find the rule saying whether Defences stack for heroic and prestige, or whether one bonus is applied per Defence trait. It's the one rule I can't remember in Star Wars. O.o

Hey Shakes, the Scavenger Guide says that only Astromechs can use a Droid Socket. I understand why this would be, but since it would be very useful for the Wraeth/Arnold duo if Arnold could control most of the technical aspects of a ship from one station, is there any way Arnold could be modified to interface with sockets?

What page? I won't promise anything, not until I've read it myself.

It says many types of droids have them, and uses astromechs as an example. Does it say somewhere specific that only astromechs have them, or that your model can't? If not, then feel free, so long as the rules permit you getting them; otherwise, I'll have to say no.

It says, and I quote:
Designed exclusively for astromech droids, the droid socket serves as a station
combining copilot, systems monitoring, astrogation, and damage-control
operations for minimally crewed craft.
I guess that means no droid socket, huh?

How does the jet pack work in this game again?

I also just realized that encumberance is going to be an issue for Arnold. He's a small droid with a very low strength score...

Unfortunately no, Cheese. Still, he looks awesome in other ways.

I can't say, Dabocim, as I don't have the books to hand on this machine. It should be in the core book, or in the KOTOR sourcebook (at least, I know there's some talents for it).

Yeah, you're going to be a crappy pack mule. But that's what wookiees are for, right?

Right.

Except I have all kinds of systems I want to add... Actually, I cut it down, but I think I'm still over heavy load... Seriously, the encumberance limits are ridiculous at that STR...

That's the price of being such an egg-head.

When I've got all six character sheets up, I'll devote some time to looking them over properly and then okaying each one in turn. Once that's done, we can begin the game.

Hmmm, maybe use the lvl 4 and 8 boosts to increase STR instead of WIS... Yeah, I think I'll do that. I need my systems!

Give it a go. As I said, I won't be looking them over in-depth until the others are done too.

In Saga, you get boosts to two stats at every 4. So you could do both.

I'm already using one of the boosts at each level for INT.

...I may have min-maxed in my original build.

In fact, I'm still fairly min-maxed. I just had to give a little back to STR.
