Good point. I'll fix that entry.

the wall that seperates the library they are in and Mikon's bed chamber?
You guys are still in the stairwell. The door is at 225 East/120 North at the top of the stairs before you enter the library. This doesn't affect your plan, though. You could just mine through the wall from stairs to bedchamber instead of library to bedchamber.

Interesting plan. Thinking outside the box.

The map didn't show the door, which is bizarre. One day I'm going to buy a mapping program that costs money. Anyway, I fixed it to show the door.

No you didn't. At least, I still don't see a door at the top of the stairs.

As you said though, it doesn't change the plan.

Also, what's the roof look like its made of? If its wood that might be easier to break through than the stone wall.

I revised the source of the image (at the beginning of the current IC thread), so I'm surprised you don't see the door.

The roof, huh?

For the record:
Earlier, when the tower was viewed from outside, it appeared that the roof was peaked in the center and made of slate shingles.
The ceiling of the fourth level is composed of wide wooden boards, ten feet above the floor, and it is level. Termix has been in the library and he remembers that the ceiling in there is level as well. Since the roof is peaked, there must be some sort of attic.

Now the question is: How paranoid was Mikon? And was he creative enough to think of warding entry to his personal chambers through such unorthodox means?

Okay, that's two questions.

Thanks for the heads up.

The ladder should work, though balancing it might be a little tricky. More tricky will be getting it upstairs.

Some proper blocking should handle the balancing issue. We just have to find something that's the right size.

How tall is the ladder? Depending on its height and weight Kierna might be able to pass it up to the second floor without anyone having to decend all the way down.

I was thinking that. It would make sense. And it would make getting down easier too.

It sounds like you guys have a plan. Put it in the IC thread.

As for blocking, a chair and/or desk should work nicely. I'm a bit worried about Flarrgj falling off while trying to cut through the roof. Even with proper blocking, he still has a chance of falling due to swinging an axe while on a ladder. Any ideas on how to prevent this?

Take small swings?

Really, I'm not sure there's anything we can do about it. I'd suggest rigging up a belay line, but we've nothing to attatch it to (it would have to be connected to the ceiling or a point fairly high on the wall to do any good).

Just don't stand under the ladder...

I figure a balance check might be in order, but I don't think it would be a hard DC. I know I for one had done quite a bit of hammer swinging, painting, light hanging for theater stage lighting (along with a host of other aloft things regarding theater), and axe and saw wielding against offending trees that like to block satellite signals.

Ugh, sorry I've been so slow getting to this. Amidst finals, an undue amount of things to do at work and a play-by-post I'm trying to get off the ground, I haven't had any time to get moving on Jiangu!

I'm here now, though. Do you want me to wait on activating Kierna until the party next comes to camp, or can she 'catch up' with them when she's ready (which should be momentarily)?

Beat of wings......screach......I'm thinking this is s pheonix. Is there some way for Termix to realize that that is what it is? He has ranks in just about every knowledge....

Didn't CD mention the type of bird that Mikon had in the dungeon already? I'm guessing that's what it is.

Treehouse,

You can jump in whenever you are ready. Just declare that Kierna heard the screeching (if you jump in now), or wanted to check on things with the others, or whatever.

By the looks of iniative only Kierna and Gizerak should be posting, right?

Sitting in a workshop now, getting ready to post Gizerak's action. Sorry for the lack of interaction on my part lately. Hectic life.

I guess I am still a little confused about the map coordinates. The phoera are above the tower? Or are they just inside (and mere feet away from Kierna)? From your description, I'm guessing the first one, but I want to be sure.

I put all of the levels on one map, which I realize can be disorienting. The phoeras are on level 1. They are only about ten feet from Kierna, but seperated by a wall.

Each level is 20 feet high, so the lead phoera is forty feet below Termix, and only about twenty feet Northwest of him.

Also, BP is correct. Only those with intiative results higher than the Phoera can act in this installment. Then everyone can act in the next installment, which will cover the second half of round 1 and the first half of round 2.

Thanks, CD. I must have missed the initial map description. It all makes sense now.

Edit: One more thing, are the captives still with Kierna, or did she leave them at the camp?
