House Rules

Feats
1. Weapon Finesse applies to Scimitars

2. Dodge grants a +1 dodge bonus to AC. The bonus acts at all times a regular dodge bonus would act and follows all rules regarding dodge bonuses.

3. Quick Draw feat allows a character to draw, sheathe or pick up a weapon or weapon-like item (scrolls, wands) as a free action a number of times per round equal to their Dexterity modifier +1.

Spells
1. Assay Resistance gives a +1 bonus/2 caster levels (minimum+4, maximum +10) to overcome SR.

2. Conjuration (creation) spells that deal damage (Orbs, Melf's Acid Arrow) are still subject to SR. Caster gains a +5 bonus to overcome SR when using these spells.

3. Identify has no material component, and it takes 10 minutes to cast.

Question regarding modifiying the hexblade class slightly. I'm interested in taking a few levels of hexblade, but I don't have much of a use for the Hexblade Curse ability, either mechanically or flavor-wise. This being the case, would it be feasible to trade the hexblade curse for something else? A feat, skill points, whatever?

My idea was that this character has seen people close to him (loved ones, squadmates, whatever -- haven't decided yet) killed or tortured by magic, and has therefore chosen to undergo whatever training that will help him protect himself (and therefore those he protects) from such magic.

I can write something up later tonight; I'm on my dad's laptop right now, so it's kind of inconvenient at the moment.

Mercutio and I have deliberated, and I'm afraid it's a no, Doom. We feel the multiclass system is more balanced when you have to take the suboptimal class features to get to the optimal ones.

An example of this besides yours would be someone taking two levels of paladin for divine grace. To do this, first they have to pick up a single use of smite evil that's almost worthless to them at the higher levels. How many people, given this build and the option, wouldn't take a bonus feat instead of that one crappy smite evil?

So, sorry, but no...

No problem. Just thought I'd ask. Never hurts to ask, right? Well, ok, maybe sometimes it does hurt to ask, but only if the question is something like "Dear, can you help me unload this new plasma screen TV that I bought with your tax return?"

So it's better to ask forgiveness than to ask permission? I like my digits where they are, thank you.

Treehouse - couldja post languages and religions, or at least give me an inkling. To facilitate, I'm leaning toward a nonlawful nonevil of some stripe, to be determined shortly.

Languages are pretty much normal. There are a few exotic additions, but most are the same.

So Xen'drik will qualify me for (Xen'drik) Suel Arcanamch, correct? Or is there another dead language I should know about?

As long as we're on languages, is common still 'common,' or is it something else? (eg, in LotR, what passes for "common" is actually Westron, etc)

Common is fine. I think technically it would be some offshoot of Sarlonan since that's where human's came from, but in this game common will be fine.
