The reason I ask all this is so that we, the players, know something about the limitations of our characters. There is less editing that way. My character would not entertain running 40 miles to 'town' to get help for his dying friend if he didn't think he could do it. Neither would someone attempt to lift a car to throw it in a fight, if they didn't have an inkling that it was possible to do that.

We have to have some kind of idea of what we and perhaps others are capable of on a basic level.

ShatteredUniverse (is there something shorter I can call you by? ), could you arrange to have Ricky meet with some opposition in getting out of there? Perhaps some other cop not recognizing him, or someone wondering why a cop is leaving instead of helping?

I've got a few questions before my post:
1. Does Ricky already have decent control over his phasing yet? I wasn't sure when and how we 'unlock' our secondary powers, or if we start with them.
2. Can Ricky stand on the ground while phasing? Or do I start falling through the floor? (Standing can be explained by the lower density creating a lift force which balances the decrease in Normal Force from the ground)

Also, I will from now on being referring to you as 'Mr. GM'.

No time like the presence to learn about phasing if ricky doesn't know about it yet.

Yes, ricky could just escape the restraints without sinking through the floor.

I have no idea how fast of a healing factor John has, but I am imagining that a .50 round that missed the main plates in a jacket would certainly enough damage to kill just about anybody else (that isn't made out of metal or something).

He is more than willing to ride in the van towards the flair.

Also, Darkwing, did the .50 info come from SU (ie the GM) or is that even more free form stuff?

Came from SU. I've got him on MSN, and so I skip posting in the OOC, and just straight up ask him. I asked what calibre bullet he hit you with.

Apparantly the empowered are harder to kill anyway, and you have an insane endurance score, so I guess you're okay, but I don't think Rawne will of looked into many shootings where he's been handed the bullet by the victim at the scene :p

Also, I apologise if he comes off as a bit of a dick, he'll soften off a bit when he's not dashing round the scene of a shooting in a state of confusion.

Well that didn't take too long... Guess I'll have to wait for you guys in order to be rescued... Much as I knew that simply escaping from the chains was an idiotic idea, Ricky is not quite as smart - or genre-savvy.
Also, obviously it's a moot point now, but could Ricky be aware enough in the future to phase in response to some kind of attack? Not a bullet or dart gun maybe, those are too fast even for Ricky's agility (at least for now), but I'm thinking of a melee kind of attacks, and people charging at him.

DWS did indeed ask me about the bullet caliber.

Ricky will be able to phase through attacks.

I will be mostly inactive later tonight through to Sunday- sorry guys, real life needs me for a few days.

not a clue, Just heading for the flare and hoping.

I believe the term is "railroaded" while we go through the prologue, at least.

Might sound anal, But how are we sitting in this van?

I remember Francis getting into the front seat, and I assume I'm in the shotgun position.

John would be laying on the floor in the back, where the equipment used to be.

So wait, this is who's van? The news crew or those other guys (Corran and Xavier)?

Also, heh, Xavier. Anyone else notice some similarities?

Yeah, cept xaviers got mind powers, and this guy is either telekinetic, or able to control metal or something.

It's the news van francis is in. Being a news van, it's the type with rear facing doors and a bunch of crap on top for broadcasting.

Last time I checked, Xavier's (from X-men) mind powers let him do telekinetic stuff as well. And besides the similarity of the powers and name, there's the fact that both are recruiting empowered/mutants, and both are in a wheelchair.

Does Ricky shift back to his base form when he's sleeping/unconscious/dead? Otherwise, when you find him, he'll still look like a cop, since he hasn't had an opportunity to shift back yet.

Animus is not telekinetic.

It depends on when you look at him in the comics. He never displayed TK until Ultimates....Jean Gray did the TK.

Uh, all I really know about X-men comes from one of the TV shows. I'm not even sure which one it is specifically. Not the one where they're teens, the older cartoon. And I thought that Xavier had TK powers. But I guess I don't really remember all that well.
Oh, and I thought that Animus was Telekinetic, but maybe it was the other guy? Or maybe like DWS said, one of them can manipulate metal.

Well, the van started up. If it was telekinesis, I would of assumed it woulda just moved.
