Burnt Offerings OOC Thread

This is the place for serious discussion about the game. Make good use of it; there should be no OOC comments in the game itself, as this is exactly what this thread is for.

We'll also be using this thread to roll dice. I will roll all dice pertaining to your defenses and reactions (such as initiative and saving throws), and to certain skills where the outcome is in doubt (such as sense motive); in private, for the latter. To roll dice, just use the form [roll]XdY+Z[/roll].

The introduction itself is up; I'll make a second post that will note Quinn's opening shortly.

Is this where I point out all your beautiful typos? Haha, just giving you a hard time. Typos usually stick out of the text and scream mean obscenities at me... unless they're mine of course.

Actually, yes, please (in PMs, so that no one knows ). I've gone through it like three times since I've posted it, and found a half dozen already, but it's hard to be your own editor.

Well, I'm about to head out for my trip. I'll be checking the net once more once I get to the staging location tonight, and then probably nothing until Sunday (maaaybe Saturday, if I'm not too jetlagged, we'll see.)

See you all on the flip side!

Something I forgot to bring up:

Everyone please stick to past tense in-game. Your characters aren't acting; they've already acted. You don't do something; you did something. So forth. Violators will annoy me. And be edited.

Oooh, very bad roll on Seraph's diplomacy check. Good thing Shayliss is as easy as pie.

Heh. I'm going to assume that Seraph is being totally honest, besides not mentioning everything he wants to do.

Exactly.

This turn of events will definitely not be the direct cause of Seraph meeting Alde. Really! Pure coincidence, it will be.

Good news for Seraph; his little talk with Shayliss goes pretty well, assuming he doesn't try anything crazy or forward. Ven drops by every few minutes to make sure Seraph is actually working, but there's not many people around, and it's not hard to do. Seraph gets the impression that Shayliss is a bit spoiled and whiny, but she doesn't say anything that the plot cares about.

Seraph spends two hours at the table, more or less, before someone interesting shows up. Please describe the gist of your conversation with her, either here for me to elaborate on in-game, or yourself by elaborating on this.

I'll do it here. Seraph will be polite to her and describe that he recently came into town and is staying at the Rusty Dragon, if asked about his past he shirks it off and tries to change the subject asap. He will try to learn more about Shayliss and the town proper and maybe some local gossip but he will try to keep the conversation off himself as much as possible. He'll give the appearance of being slightly aloof and a bit laconic but caring.

Noted.

I may be a bit slow to post for a few days; aside from being busier than usual, my priority is getting PY and EJ into the game within the week. So don't be surprised if it takes a few days for me to move forward is what I'm sayin'.

Kuroda's intro should be up later tonight. Even if it isn't, I'll be able to resume normal posting next week, and we can kick this game into high gear.

Crap, Kuroda's opening is reading pretty badly right now. I think I'm going to throw Cedriana into the game first and perhaps rethink how Kuroda fits into the party.

Cedriana's opening is up. When it merges with the main thread I'm going to write a transition that describes a bit of her dance, but first I've got to see how Cedriana actually meets up with the others... and figure out how to describe a dance.

I can perhaps help with the description of the dancing. I'm heading back to work for a few hours here shortly, but I'll get a post up tonight (as well as that Sohei write-up.)

In the description of the currencies it says that ora are generally only accepted within Magnimar. Does this not hold true in Sandpoint? I don't see what else we'd use for anything less than a lumar though. Are we closest to Magnimar out of the three city states? Is that what type of lumar we have (generally speaking?)

Also, the values of stuff I have in my pouch... is this the totals with the coinage I just got from the performance or should I add that myself still? I forgot how much coinage I started with.

Not within Magnimar: within Magnimar's holdings, which is to say, its sovereignty. Sandpoint is about 50 miles along the coast from the city, while Riddleport is about two hundred miles north, and Korvosa almost four hundred miles east... so mites are (mostly) accepted.

If you're curious, Magnimar's holdings aside from Sandpoint include the towns of Galduria, Nybor, Wartle, and Wolf's Ear, and a handful of villages besides. Sandpoint is the largest, if still small.

Also, the values of stuff I have in my pouch... is this the totals with the coinage I just got from the performance or should I add that myself still?
Don't worry, I added them.
