Could get people to sound off, but I assume that bugs would take priority.

Anyone who wants to attempt to locate the best vantage point from your location (a grove in the middle of the forest) can roll NFA to see how they do.

I think this will work best: describe your actions in the IC thread (noting exactly what you do to make the NFA roll), and then come here and roll for it. I'll post a response with the results. This is more like a traditional RPG, where the players say they're doing something, roll for it, and the GM tells them what happens.

Sound good? IC post what you're doing, OoC post a roll, and if we need to discuss it further we can do so in the OoC thread, if not I'll post the results of your actions.

Good? Sorry if this is painfully obvious to you lot; I just wanted to be clear.

I hear ya.

Here I get 10's and 9's.

In Pathfinder, I got a natural one. V.V

Eh, I'd rather get a 10 in a non combat situation where failure doesn't bring me closer to death (or the waste of a strength or weakness, which is essentially one step closer to true death later on.)

Well yeah. Thing is I got high rolls when it counted - I took some heavy beating last battle. Not like I'm complaining though - I did get to finish the battle with a bit of Dakka rage.

Not Dakka - she's not likely to manage it with an NFA of 3, and she's busy looking for bugs.

Doc and I are holding onto the Nuke. We're not the ideal scouts...

How exactly does Ryder fail? Does he just fail to notice whatever would be at the high ground? or is he simply unable to get up the slope?

He fails by mis-navigating and finding a less-than-ideal spot or something.

Keep in mind that if anyone else rolls, they'll have to challenge his authority in some way.

"hey Sarge, wouldn't this be a better route", etc etc.

I'm sure Ryder will accept his troop's assistance, but going forward you may have less-than-sensible COs.

Like all (good) sergeants, Ryder can handle advice, and admit when he's wrong, provided the criticising soldier doesn't mouth off.

What about the other troops with us. They don't get to contribute right?

Personally, I'm for just letting us deal with the bad spot, rather than have an NPC rescue us. I'm an elitist like that.

I'm still here, but I figured Ryder would be speaking first. I'll post something soon if he doesn't but Dakka will still wait on him for confirmation.

I'm here as well, but as a grunt, Jet figured he'd let his Sarge figure out getting in contact with Nihil.

Sorry guys. I refreshed my page after I checked all the forums, and must've missed that Croaker put up a post. If anyone wants to post, go ahead; I'll get a post up later today when I haven't got thirty jobs to to.

Out of curiousity, whose post is it? Daedulus? Croaker?

I think this game may be dying. It's difficult to run pbp, it seems. I could make a transition to real-time chat to finish it off, but after that I think I'm gonna close it up.

Sorry about that, guys. I've been going to my library of games and see what works and what doesn't work via pbp, and I don't think this one works especially well.

If anyone has anything to say, they should feel free to do so. This hasn't been decided 100% yet.

I've been enjoying it, but I do think it needs to be more fast-paced to work. PbP is inherently slower, so I can see the difficulty in continuing it.

I'd definitely be up for chatting to finish off, but for July I'll be in Israel, which is a significant time difference to the States, and I think their might be others among us with similar problems. Scheduling will be very important if we do change it to chat.
