Physical Description
Mask: A middle-aged gentleman with world-weary eyes and strangely forgettable looks. (A portrait, stolen from the web.)
Mein: The skin appears to be made of sheets of torn paper that shift around slowly. Many of the sheets have writing on them of all sorts, but some carry photorealistic images of different people's body parts. As you talk to him, an image of your own eyes might slide over his face, for example. Occasionally there are gaps between the sheets, revealing black and silver metal bits evoking a monstrous typewriter. The writing on his sheets and amount of metal showing vary with his emotions.

Background
Roy's Keeper was an avid letter-writer, and used Roy as a personal secretary. The Keeper would shape Roy's features to match his addressee, then dictate to him. The Keeper's maddening letters, beyond the comprehension of all but the True Fae, filled Roy's mind like fireman's hose would a thimble. By the time he escaped, "Roy" (as he decided to call himself) could no longer separate his own stories from those he'd chronicled. He now makes a meager living as an archivist for the [Insert City Here] Historical Society. He is an excellent researcher, something he believe dates from his past.
