Shadowrun Returns
So as you may or may not know, kickstarter has became increasingly popular lately and now a Jordan Weisman has jumped on the bandwagon in an attempt to get his Shadowrun computer game funded.
I'd never heard of him before, but apparently he created both Battletech and Shadowrun, so... yeah... I'm sure some of you have at least. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...dowrun-returns

I posted this to my Facebook friend yesterday and completely forgot to post it here. I'm trying to rub two nickels together and hope they magically turn into $15 so that I can pitch in.
The video on the Kickstarter page is pretty clever, particularly the bit where offscreen people throw things at the guy who produced the Microsoft Shadowrun FPS game...which was atrocious. |

Yeah, it seems that making funny videos is the key to success in Kickstarter. At least it worked for Tim Schaefer, Brian Fargo, and now Jordan Weisman. The one thing I'm kinda worried about is that all these old beloved artists will start doing this way too quickly without considering that as much as their fans love them, they still need time to refill their bank accounts.

I won't pitch in as there's little chance I'd ever play the video game, but I'm watching with curiosity. Hopefully it'll spark some interest in F2F games, and I'll actually get to play some tabletop Shadowrun already.

The thing that worked for Tim Schaefer is the fact that he's Tim Schaefer, haha.
