[OOC] Player Discussion

Players are free to discuss topics and ask questions related to the game herein. If, for any reason, a player finds himself unable to post for a period of time, please let me know through the use of this thread, so that I can plan around your absence.

After being accepted for the game, I would ask that players post their C.A.D. (Character Action Display) and C.P.R. (Character Profile Record) in the Player Area of the game forum. I will make each thread private once it's been posted, so that only myself and the player in question can view the information.

When posting your C.A.D. and C.P.R., please do so in the following format:

When you gain Lines of Experience, I'll notify you through your individual threads, and you can tell me where you're allocating them and why. Any private storylines or notes that the character gets will also be handled through these threads.

Any questions, please post them here and I'll get back to you. :) Game on.

Shakespeare 12th of May, 2010 21:47

It's worth reminding players that I'd like them to try and aim for around 200-500 words a post, if possible. It's not a deal-breaker if you don't, but I find that longer, more detailed posts provide a better game atmosphere, and make it more enjoyable for those involved.

Obviously there will be times when the length of a post is cut to make room for quick back-and-forth (like in combat), but outside of such situations I'd like people to try for a decide post length. Players who manage to do so will find themselves awarded with an extra Line of Experience per Mission or Issue.

Any questions, send them my way. :D

Done, and done.

Ready to bust some heads whenever you are.

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 00:30

Heya Haraphen. Nice to meet you!

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 00:34

Glad to see that both character threads have been posted. You shouldn't be able to see each other's C.A.D.s and C.P.R.s, but if you can be sure to let me know.

I'll be formulating a post for the game soon. It should be up either today or tomorrow. If there's any questions before the game starts, feel free to throw them my way.

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 00:36

I checked - I can't see his. Well done.

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 00:38

Good to know. Haraphen, let me know whether you can see Krypton's sheet.

Haraphen 13th of May, 2010 00:43

nope sall locked up

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 00:48

Excellent... Now my screw-up on my character sheet is known only to me!

And Shakespeare. Damn it.

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 00:56

Okay. Glad to see that both are invisible.

Post's being written up as I type. But before I get it submitted, I want you both to double check your sheets one last time, and then post in your thread that everything adds up, or see if anything might need to be changed. I've looked them over myself in my Private Messages, but want to make absolutely sure that everything's accurate prior to play.

Thanks.

Question - Is the House of M storyline applicable to this game? I'm assuming so, but some people really hate it and might be tempted to avoid it. Essentially what I'm asking is - did the majority of the world's Mutants recently lose their powers when the Scarlet Witch went crazy?

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 05:04

This game runs parallel to the Runaways books (beginning shortly after Issue #18, after the Pride has been defeated), so I believe so. Wolverine does mention, for instance, that there's only 198 Mutants left on the planet as of the second series of Runaways.

Lando The Archmagi 13th of May, 2010 05:20

I'm reviewing the rules and am leaning towards a superhero similiar to Iron Man/War Machine etc with a suit of power armor or the like. Probably a recent college graduate/inventor etc.

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 06:00

Sounds good to me Lando. But in future can you keep to the Visitor's Thread until the application's accepted? Keeping this thread open to accepted players only, though I'll be checking the Visitor's Thread just as often. Thanks. :)

Just waiting on Haraphen to confirm that his totals add up. When he's done so, I'll get us started. Oh, and I'd also like all players to list for me what sub-forums you can see.

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 06:58

Okay, good to know. I figured that, but just wanted to doublecheck. I can see the 'Player's Area' and that's it for Subforums. Threads in the Player's Area I can see only my own.

Haraphen 13th of May, 2010 07:12

all my numbes add up right. all i see is players area too

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 07:14

Excellent! Now, bring on the bad guys! Or, depending on other occurrences, perhaps, and referencing Firefly...

"Shiny! Let's be bad guys."

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 07:21

Excellent. :) Thanks for the patience guys -- post should be up tonight or tomorrow.

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 07:37

:worry:

Okay. I spelled out the stone usage for you over there - So, if there are any more discrepancies, let me know, but I did double check that Endurance cost triple. Everything should be alright, now.

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 08:04

Yeah, sorry about that Krypton. Guess I missed that rule. :P

Anyways, it doesn't look like this post will be finished tonight (it's 0004hr and I'm shattered), but I'll finish it off tomorrow and we can begin. :)

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 08:39

I'm atwitter with anticipation!

Shakespeare 14th of May, 2010 00:29

That's a good post length guys, keep it up! Keep up the dialogue guys; I'll interrupt when I need to. :)

Shakespeare 14th of May, 2010 22:34

Expect a post either today or tomorrow (though it'd be late tomorrow, cause I've got an early morning army fitness assessment).

Shakespeare 18th of May, 2010 04:41

Guys, I'm going to ask you -- and any future additions to the game -- to do me a favour when posting in Panels/combat/Pages: when you post an OOC message including stone allocations, please end the post by listing how many stones you've used total, and how many you've got left.

So, say, a hero uses 8 stones in a turn and has a maximum Energy Reserve of 12. He'd end his OOC message with: "8 stones used this Panel in total. 4/12 stones remaining." For example.

Krypton 18th of May, 2010 05:54

Is that good? Not exactly what you said, but it lets you know all my stones used, and how many of each sort are left. I couldn't find if you lost maximum energy for lost White Stones, but I thought I read that in an earlier readthrough.
