[OOC] Player Discussion

Players are free to discuss topics and ask questions related to the game herein. If, for any reason, a player finds himself unable to post for a period of time, please let me know through the use of this thread, so that I can plan around your absence.

After being accepted for the game, I would ask that players post their C.A.D. (Character Action Display) and C.P.R. (Character Profile Record) in the Player Area of the game forum. I will make each thread private once it's been posted, so that only myself and the player in question can view the information.

When posting your C.A.D. and C.P.R., please do so in the following format:

When you gain Lines of Experience, I'll notify you through your individual threads, and you can tell me where you're allocating them and why. Any private storylines or notes that the character gets will also be handled through these threads.

Any questions, please post them here and I'll get back to you. :) Game on.

Shakespeare 12th of May, 2010 21:47

It's worth reminding players that I'd like them to try and aim for around 200-500 words a post, if possible. It's not a deal-breaker if you don't, but I find that longer, more detailed posts provide a better game atmosphere, and make it more enjoyable for those involved.

Obviously there will be times when the length of a post is cut to make room for quick back-and-forth (like in combat), but outside of such situations I'd like people to try for a decide post length. Players who manage to do so will find themselves awarded with an extra Line of Experience per Mission or Issue.

Any questions, send them my way. :D

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 00:05

Done, and done.

Ready to bust some heads whenever you are.

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 00:30

Heya Haraphen. Nice to meet you!

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 00:34

Glad to see that both character threads have been posted. You shouldn't be able to see each other's C.A.D.s and C.P.R.s, but if you can be sure to let me know.

I'll be formulating a post for the game soon. It should be up either today or tomorrow. If there's any questions before the game starts, feel free to throw them my way.

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 00:36

I checked - I can't see his. Well done.

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 00:38

Good to know. Haraphen, let me know whether you can see Krypton's sheet.

Haraphen 13th of May, 2010 00:43

nope sall locked up

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 00:48

Excellent... Now my screw-up on my character sheet is known only to me!

And Shakespeare. Damn it.

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 00:56

Okay. Glad to see that both are invisible.

Post's being written up as I type. But before I get it submitted, I want you both to double check your sheets one last time, and then post in your thread that everything adds up, or see if anything might need to be changed. I've looked them over myself in my Private Messages, but want to make absolutely sure that everything's accurate prior to play.

Thanks.

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 01:27

Question - Is the House of M storyline applicable to this game? I'm assuming so, but some people really hate it and might be tempted to avoid it. Essentially what I'm asking is - did the majority of the world's Mutants recently lose their powers when the Scarlet Witch went crazy?

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 05:04

This game runs parallel to the Runaways books (beginning shortly after Issue #18, after the Pride has been defeated), so I believe so. Wolverine does mention, for instance, that there's only 198 Mutants left on the planet as of the second series of Runaways.

Lando The Archmagi 13th of May, 2010 05:20

I'm reviewing the rules and am leaning towards a superhero similiar to Iron Man/War Machine etc with a suit of power armor or the like. Probably a recent college graduate/inventor etc.

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 06:00

Sounds good to me Lando. But in future can you keep to the Visitor's Thread until the application's accepted? Keeping this thread open to accepted players only, though I'll be checking the Visitor's Thread just as often. Thanks. :)

Just waiting on Haraphen to confirm that his totals add up. When he's done so, I'll get us started. Oh, and I'd also like all players to list for me what sub-forums you can see.

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 06:58

Okay, good to know. I figured that, but just wanted to doublecheck. I can see the 'Player's Area' and that's it for Subforums. Threads in the Player's Area I can see only my own.

Haraphen 13th of May, 2010 07:12

all my numbes add up right. all i see is players area too

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 07:14

Excellent! Now, bring on the bad guys! Or, depending on other occurrences, perhaps, and referencing Firefly...

"Shiny! Let's be bad guys."

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 07:21

Excellent. :) Thanks for the patience guys -- post should be up tonight or tomorrow.

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 07:37

:worry:

Okay. I spelled out the stone usage for you over there - So, if there are any more discrepancies, let me know, but I did double check that Endurance cost triple. Everything should be alright, now.

Shakespeare 13th of May, 2010 08:04

Yeah, sorry about that Krypton. Guess I missed that rule. :P

Anyways, it doesn't look like this post will be finished tonight (it's 0004hr and I'm shattered), but I'll finish it off tomorrow and we can begin. :)

Krypton 13th of May, 2010 08:39

I'm atwitter with anticipation!

Shakespeare 14th of May, 2010 00:29

That's a good post length guys, keep it up! Keep up the dialogue guys; I'll interrupt when I need to. :)

Shakespeare 14th of May, 2010 22:34

Expect a post either today or tomorrow (though it'd be late tomorrow, cause I've got an early morning army fitness assessment).

Shakespeare 18th of May, 2010 04:41

Guys, I'm going to ask you -- and any future additions to the game -- to do me a favour when posting in Panels/combat/Pages: when you post an OOC message including stone allocations, please end the post by listing how many stones you've used total, and how many you've got left.

So, say, a hero uses 8 stones in a turn and has a maximum Energy Reserve of 12. He'd end his OOC message with: "8 stones used this Panel in total. 4/12 stones remaining." For example.

Krypton 18th of May, 2010 05:54

Is that good? Not exactly what you said, but it lets you know all my stones used, and how many of each sort are left. I couldn't find if you lost maximum energy for lost White Stones, but I thought I read that in an earlier readthrough.

Shakespeare 18th of May, 2010 06:15

Until I read otherwise, I'm running it where your maximum Energy Reserve doesn't change as you loose Health, but your lower regeneration rate makes a high stone pool hard to maintain. Of course, this'll change if I see a rule that says otherwise.

Krypton 18th of May, 2010 06:25

Alright. Good to know. Then my values are incorrect. All except Two should have started at Max, and should go back to max after they regenerate. IIRC.

Shakespeare 18th of May, 2010 07:20

Post should be up tomorrow guys. =) Nice scene.

Krypton 18th of May, 2010 07:38

Yeah - I'm feeling seriously out bad-assed by Haraphen so far. Not that I didn't expect that, but... DAMN symbiote suits can throw down!

Shakespeare 18th of May, 2010 17:21

You both have separate uses and strengths. Toxin might be better with reflexes and brawling, but there's a reason your power was so expensive - being able to create an unlimited number of duplicates, who all share your stats at the time of duplication, had the potential for serious bad-arsery.

Haraphen 18th of May, 2010 17:27

Also im a huge spiderman fanboy so i know how to use his power set well.

Krypton 18th of May, 2010 23:48

I wasn't complaining - I know duplicates are a strong power, with a myriad of practical uses. Plus it gives me the opportunity for some awesome roleplaying.

Haraphen 21st of May, 2010 07:17

Shakespear has messaged me to say his post is written but he wont be able toget it up tilltomorrow. first thing hopefully

Krypton 21st of May, 2010 07:43

Coolness, coolness. No rush - I'm going to be running down to Portland tonight, anyway.

Shakespeare 23rd of May, 2010 07:33

Some updates! Firstly, I'll be looking over some more applications soon, so hopefully our player base will hit the 3 mark by the time you guys progress to Mission 2 in Issue #1: ...and The Fall. Secondly, I (hopefully) will be recieving a hardcover copy of the rules on Monday/Tuesday, so I'll be able to solidify my understanding of the system.

Shakespeare 25th of May, 2010 01:13

Editor's Note: Keep it up guys. I'll post tomorrow when I've got more time; having to paint some rooms today. I'll also spend tomorrow looking over some of the applications.

Krypton 27th of May, 2010 07:03

Ahhhahaha. Evan is a speed demon! Look out, Usain Bolt, here Legion comes!

Shakespeare 27th of May, 2010 07:22

Hey guys, I'm going to try to get a post up tomorrow. In the meantime, can you both do me a favour and, in this thread, summarise for me where everyone is going to be and what you're doing?

Evan -- assume that Legion Regenerates the Stones you've used by the time I get a post up. Also, sum up for me once more where all your equipment is -- ie. the gun and knives.

I ask all of this because I might not have a lot of time to get a post up tomorrow. So the easier and more obvious it's laid out for me, the more likely it'll be that there'll be a GM post awaiting you by the afternoon.

Lastly: as Eddie pointed out, the building they went into is indeed a warehouse. It's got three stories based upon the layout of its windows, with some very base construction scaffolding allowing (questionable) access to the second floor windows, but not the third.

Haraphen 27th of May, 2010 07:29

Toxins going to try and find another entrance preferably something at the rear or on a higher floor. assuming hes with the diplomat.

He's also goiong ot try and be stealth about it instead of runnign head first in

Krypton 27th of May, 2010 10:30

The Diplomat is going with Eddie. He has a knife.

The Warrior and Evan are staying in the alley with the cop. The Warrior has the gun, Evan has the other knife.

The Councilor's on his lightning-fast pace back to the Subaru.

Krypton 28th of May, 2010 03:38

Aha! I knew the name 'Toxin' sounded familiar. I don't know if you knew, or care, Haraphen, but there's already a Symbiote suit named Toxin in the Marvel Universe.

Krypton 28th of May, 2010 04:42

Of course, Professor X's (dead? who knows!) kid is named Legion - but his powers are all psychic, not making copies of himself.

So there we are.

Shakespeare 28th of May, 2010 04:42

Yeah, I pointed that out to Haraphen a short time ago. I don't know whether he intends on playing it that Eddie is unaware of the existance of the "other Toxin", and thus took the name in an act of ignorance (I assume he is).

Haraphen 28th of May, 2010 07:19

I was unaware when i came up with the character idea but to e honest iys a pretty logiclt name for a sibiote power character

Krypton 28th of May, 2010 07:54

The bummer part is that the other Toxin is way, WAY out of our weight class. He takes Carnage and Venom at the same time.

Shakespeare 28th of May, 2010 17:33

Ah, well I guess we'll just have to play it that doesn't even know that the other Toxin exists, though Ashley will no doubt tell him.

Haraphen 28th of May, 2010 23:38

damn Twinks

Shakespeare 29th of May, 2010 05:32

Guys, remember to include your Stone totals at the end of the OOC posts.

Krypton 29th of May, 2010 06:54

Whatchutalkinbout Willis? (RIP Gary Coleman)

*sheepish whistling which does NOT in the least imply I editted it into the end of my post.*
