Serenity game - ship captain needed

My Serenity game http://online-roleplaying.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1515 needs a ship captain. We started with 6 players but no captain, so I provided an NPC, with the intention to kill him off and have the players deal with it. That's being done now.

We also lost the Shepherd/Doctor PC, who will become an NPC.

None of the players want to captain, so we need a leader type. If you're interested, please post in the OOC thread of the game, and read the threads leading up to this point. Everyone is Greenhorn level.

I'd be interested Wired, but I don't have the rules (trying to find them right now). If I don't have any luck finding a copy, can this game be played without them?

My knowledge of the game is the Serentiy movie and I've seen the first 4-5 episodes of Firefly.

EDIT: Found the rules, the copyright on them is 2005 - is that the right version?
