A recording of people pretending to be making constructive conversation about something - hopefully - interesting while being humorous. Also good for keeping me sane while I engage in mind numbing monotonous work. As the amount of mind numbing monotonous work I engage in is about to rise I'm on the lookout for some new podcasts to listen to.

Therefore I ask you the obvious question, what podcasts do you listen to?

So as I'm not just asking and giving nothing back I'll start it off with two of my own. The first is Fear The Boot (http://feartheboot.com/), a podcast about tabletop roleplaying games (just like we play here!). In fact I recommend everyone who is interested at least listen to their interview with Ryan Dancey (http://feartheboot.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=179876).

The second is Webcomics Weekly (http://www.halfpixel.com/), a podcast by creators of successful webcomics, giving "advice" on how to make a successful professional webcomic. While the content isn't directly applicable to me, they still tend to be funny. Now if only they'd equalise the volume.

Already posted on your LJ thing, but here again:

The Chillcast with Anji Bee (http://thechillcast.mevio.com/) - has a really dorky host (nice voice), but a good selection of "chillout" music and a pretty big backlog. Usually best if you just skip ahead 4 or so minutes. Episodes last 30-45 minutes, with a few one and a half hour specials.

Dungeons & Dragons Podcast (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/arch/pod) - relatively obvious. Most of the episodes are about upcoming things, so it's not really that worthwhile to go through the backlog (amazing sneak peaks at 4th edition? awesome!), but recent episodes are worth it, I guess. Also has the Penny Arcade episodes, which just consist of humor-laden recordings of a session with the PA guys. Episodes are around 45 minutes.

Galactic Fractures (http://www.galacticfractures.com/) - has a good selection of interesting music. Jazz, funk, soul, blues, etc. Podcast of a radio show. Just recently started updating again since sometime late last year. Episodes last 2 hours, though occasionally shorter.

910CMX Webcomic Talk Group (http://www.talkshoe.com/talkshoe/web/talkCast.jsp?masterId=31253&cmd=tc) - a podcast about webcomics. Guests are skewed toward the Wotch and 910CMX community. If you're just interested in webcomics and don't care about that group, the Webcomics Weekly podcast (above) is probably a safer bet. Episodes last a little over an hour.

NPR: Car Talk (http://www.cartalk.com/content/showpodcast/index.html) - podcast version of the NPR Car Talk show w/ Click and Clack. Just realized this was available in podcast form on account of jtmusic's response to the LJ post. Episodes are a little under an hour.

I listen to Fear the Boot as well.

My podcast listening-ness has been down since school ended but hopefully I'll get a ipod or zune in the next few weeks (months? god I hope not :( lol) and listen more on my commute.

I did listen to Psudeopod the weekly horror podcast, Escape Pod, Castle Pod, the adventures of the Red Panda (I believe it was called), and many others which I shall probably end up listing here.

And no links for you! :P

I would like to be a fairly successful author someday, so my podcasts tend to deal with writing in one form or another.

Most of the time, I listen to American Writers (http://www.americanwriters.com). The host, a college professor in New York, offers some rather good advice that I think has helped me quite considerably. Thumbs up to Tom Occhipinti.

I also listen to WTT (http://welltoldtales.com/), or Well Told Tales. It has some fun, if not absolutely horrible horror and sci-fi stories. Each episode is about half an hour long, so it can kill some time if you have nothing better to read or listen to. The bass that occasionally pops up in the background drives me nuts though.

Some other writing ones I listen to are The Writing Show, Writing Excuses, and I Should Be Writing, though only occasionally.

I'm also signed up to a few video game related podcasts as well: X-Play, Gametrailers, and Attack of the Show. I have a couple of comedy ones from Comedy Central and HBO. And, for gits and shiggles, Ninja Warrior (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMRR_Mpf7nk). I love Nagano!

I haven't been listening to many podcasts lately, but I will give Fear the Boot a chance after hearing about it here.

However, when I did, I would listen to World of Warcast (A WoW podcast), the D&D Podcast, X-Play (The last two have been mentioned above) and Cheat (A video game podcast that focuses more on... well, cheats).

Also, I didn't know that they had a Ninja Warrior podcast! Nagano is the shit! Him and Yamada.
