Hey folks!

Welcome to everyone who is taking a moment to take a good look at the game and participate in some fun. Come on in here, have a seat, and enjoy yourself.

Hiya voyeurs!

Uh, we can talk in here, too, right?

Hey! That's me! Not you! :fun:

Awesome. A Tiki lounge. Whatever that is. But lounge sounds promising at least. What are the... uh.... hm. Any chaise longue here?

Chris Chandler

Why, yes there are, right over next to our singer Richard Cheese. Have a Suffering Bastard (http://www.drinksmixer.com/drink7459.html) and relax.

Okay, so I had the opportunity to see The Flaming Lips (http://www.flaminglips.com/main.php) in Concert last night. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

LadyGlutter

Here's a hanky for you to blow your nose on, softy.

Doombot

LadyGlutter

In the spirit of keeping people from crying their eyes out or falling asleep in here, here's a little light reading (http://www.wired.com/culture/lifestyle/commentary/alttext/2008/06/alttext_0618/) for our loungers. :)

Chris Chandler
3rd of July, 2008, 08:13
I for one hate what they have done to macaroni and cheese. I mean, back in the day we didn't even bother with real cheese. It was just milk, butter, and a packet of orange dust. These kids and their colby... It completely wrecks the dining experience. Next they'll want garlic infused, parmesan crusted pasta, fer crying out loud. Recipe sprawl is just too much!

Tashalar
8th of July, 2008, 06:25
Awesome first post, LG! :fun:

I'm going to stick with the blue.

Yeah, but what kinda blue is that now? Hm? HM?

LightBringer

Why, it's just the kind of blue I like, not to blue, not to not blue.

LadyGlutter

Pfft.

It's azure.

LightBringer

Are you reading the tags again! It's just right blue.

LadyGlutter
17th of July, 2008, 07:43
No, I'm not reading the tags. They say deepskyblue. LOL

Mercutio

By this, I can only assume that you mean you were unable to find any pictures of Claire Danes infested with maggots.I had a go at photoshopping one of those today and nearly made myself puke as a result. Rest assured that I won't post it anywhere.

Doombot
21st of July, 2008, 11:01

Chris Chandler

Man, you get to learn the best gross-out stuff.

Doombot
22nd of July, 2008, 18:55
It's even better when you get to pull 3-4 of them out of a squirming kitten.

As a non sequitur, afterbirths are really sticky if you don't clean them up right away.

Tashalar
17th of August, 2008, 08:52
Ah, are you trying to tempt me to leave the Tiki Lounge? It's quite cozy here...

BUT. I think I'll fall for your temptation at some point... maybe soon. I just fear the WoC(TM). :fun:

We're all awesome. LOL Even if it's undetectable.
Haha! At least you know that's the case... LOL

LadyGlutter
23rd of October, 2008, 06:57
That it's undetectable? LOL, oh yeah I do.

Chris Chandler
23rd of October, 2008, 06:59
Hey, everyone's a little bit awesome.

Tashalar
23rd of October, 2008, 07:09
There's some awesome in each and every one of us.

Sometimes we just forget about it though. Or we forget where it is. Or others make us forget. And we let them. And... and... forget about this! *hypno-gaze*

Doombot
23rd of October, 2008, 07:46
Some of us are just more awesome than others. I have to hide mine to prevent others' egos from exploding out of sheer incomprehension. ;)

MadDogMaddux
23rd of October, 2008, 10:14
You mean to keep others from gagging on what YOU percieve to be awesome? :P

LadyGlutter
23rd of October, 2008, 10:31
Okay, my gigglebox is officially upside down now.

Doombot
23rd of October, 2008, 12:39
My awesomeness is a universal constant. It's like gravity. Everyone is kept down by the fact that I'm so awesometacular. :D

LightBringer
23rd of October, 2008, 12:47
Oh lordy, it's getting deep in here! :P

Doombot
23rd of October, 2008, 12:51
That's what you get from a guy that graduates twice: twice as much BS!
(I know, that was a bad one.)

Chris Chandler
23rd of October, 2008, 15:01
Doombot's Universal Constant of Awesome is known as the δα constant, which is equal to Doom*Awesome. You may also see that in it's shortened form, ∞.

Doombot
23rd of October, 2008, 16:59
At least someone's got my back. Thanks Chris, I'll remember this when the uprising comes.

Tashalar
7th of November, 2008, 09:35
Well, nice to see that you've worked your way around the not-so-small issues that came up.

As the local troll I just wanted to tell you all that you've got the most active game on the boards here. And it's epic, too. Doubly-epic therefore.

Doombot
7th of November, 2008, 09:38
Hopefully once Merc is done with his thesis, we'll see a little more action over in RHoD. I'm not ready to give up on that one yet, but I'm afraid Ian might have split.

LightBringer
7th of November, 2008, 10:18
Sweet! Thanks for the heads up Tash.

LadyGlutter
7th of November, 2008, 10:51
I wouldn't think that one is dead yet, either. Once a month I stop into the thread of useless pointlessness and you guys are still going strong there. That suggests quite a lot of interest in the game still.

Even though it's stating the obvious, it tickles me having the resident troll come in and tell us we talk lots for some reason. :D

I'm very glad we worked through it successfully too. I've never put as much work into making a character as Mizuki, and that's saying a lot. Epicly, I learned a lot of stuff making her, too. It's a different animal, making an epic character. Soooo many options, all going into ONE person.... So I was freaking a minute there. ;) I cannot STAND to have character creation go to waste in general, anyway.

Chris Chandler
7th of November, 2008, 14:13
Yeah, Ian's not been around much at all. It is worrisome.

Doombot
7th of November, 2008, 14:34
I've shot him an email or two via ORP, and gotten nothing. I may do so again soon, just in case. Otherwise, we might have to have the Mighty Mercutio ad-lib his character until we can get a hold of him.

MadDogMaddux
7th of November, 2008, 16:05
I'm with LG on this one, I've never spent so much time on one character in the build-out. It's kinda neat, but yeah, I'd be sad if things had fallen apart.

Ironically, the concept of Malak is something I've been toying with for YEARS, this is just the first time I really get to play him. :P

Doombot
7th of November, 2008, 19:39
Strangely enough, this is one of the quickest overall builds I've ever made. Probably because I've been planning the progression for Aros ever since I joined RHoD.

LightBringer
7th of November, 2008, 20:47
I think I went through 3 or 4 versions of OmniFrost from her original form. It was pretty time consuming, and annoying at points, but I am very happy with the final product.

Chris Chandler
8th of November, 2008, 08:10
See, OmniFrost even annoyed LB!

MadDogMaddux
8th of November, 2008, 12:24
and......that completes the set. :P

LightBringer
8th of November, 2008, 14:09
Ahhh, yes, but she is such a sweet innocent thing now, how could anyone not help but love her?

LOL

LadyGlutter
8th of July, 2009, 07:26
Does the Tiki Lounge serve at 9:26 a.m.?

LightBringer
8th of July, 2009, 09:28
Of course it does, because it's 5 o'clock, somewhere!

Doombot
8th of July, 2009, 09:54
Eh, who cares what the clock says; it's beer-thirty!

LadyGlutter
8th of July, 2009, 13:03
On a tangentially related note: our great state just recently changed their beer policy where more gourmet beers and beers that are 8.0%+ alcohol are now legal. Our grocery store has this huge section of new booze on display. I've been challenged to find a beer that doesn't gross me out, but I don't even know how that would be accomplished. I have no idea what a high gravity beer is, or any of that stuff.

LightBringer
8th of July, 2009, 13:50
I would think the best way to find out which one doesn't 'Gross you out', is to start on the left end, and work your way to the right end! :)

Sometimes research is over-rated. Go with experience.

Chris Chandler
8th of July, 2009, 18:30
Agreed - I just went with the Belgian beer with the gnome on the bottle. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. It was the best beer I've had.

MadDogMaddux
8th of July, 2009, 19:04
Gimme some names of what's available, and I'll make what reccomendations I can.

FWIW, you should definitely try 1554 by New Belgium, anything Chimay, anything Smithwicks, and if you can get your hands on Skullsplitter you'll be happy.

If by some divine chance your store has ANYHING by Celis, now brewed by Michigan Brewing Company, you need to do 3 things: 1) Take a moment of deep reverent silence before God Almighty who has so favored you, 2) buy it all, 3) send me half - just lemme know and I'll PM you an address.

:P

MadDogMaddux
8th of July, 2009, 19:05
Oh, and Sam Smith makes a great series of ales.

Xingu black is really good too.

Mackeson Stout (aka Mackeson XXX).

Doombot
9th of July, 2009, 04:47
Michigan Brewing Co. you say? Celis, you say? Welcome to Michigan, baby! ;) It's kinda funny; the MBC brewery is about 10-15 minutes down the highway from my house. I loves it.

MadDogMaddux
9th of July, 2009, 09:31

LadyGlutter
9th of July, 2009, 13:30
Thanks for the suggestions, MDM, I knew that the officianados wouldn't let me down. And LB -- though if I follow the suggestion of left to right and no research, I'll always like the ones on the right best. :P

Doombot
9th of July, 2009, 14:55
What kind of beers do you prefer? I know that it's like pulling teeth trying to get Angela to drink beer, unless it's Leinenkugel's apple flavored beer, but then, she's a hard cider fan. She will sometimes drink 'girly' beers -- Berryweiss, etc., but she still complains that they taste too much like beer. I don't know if the selection offered at your Freindly Local Liquor Store will match anything that I'm famililar with, but I'll give it a go.

I'm not familliar with Xingu or Mackeson, but otherwise it sounds like MDM knows his brew.

Chris Chandler
9th of July, 2009, 19:23
LG's favorite beer is wine.

Normally, I go for something like a Harp's, but as you guys have seen, we apparently haven't had real beer in AL. The beer I had was La chouffe (http://www.achouffe.be/en), and like I said, is the best beer I've ever had.

Chris Chandler
30th of July, 2009, 20:56
New post is up for my F2F game. For those of you who don't know, I'm working toward restructuring and converting my homebrew world (Kuralia - running a game on these boards based there) into GURPS or another more flexible ruleset, and to get things established, I'm chronicling the exploits of the current campaign. We're much farther ahead in the campaign than the current narrative, but I'll try to post more regularly. By any means, take a look if you like -

treehouse
20th of September, 2009, 19:43
Waaaaaay back in the days of 3ebb (if you're familiar with those forums -- I know Chris is), treehouse and I had a friendly rivalry going on. It was fostered somewhat by me being in RHoD, which he was co-DMing with Mercutio.

Anyway, treehouse had a well deserved reputation for being follicularly challenged. His avatar was a picture of him that looked like it could have been taken when he was twelve. So one time -- I'm not sure how we got on the subject -- I challenged him to a beard growing contest. Lune was involved for a few days, but then had to drop due to digital camera malfunction. Just as well, it was mostly between me and tree anyway. What followed was four weeks of digital oneupsmanship, mostly with (poorly) photoshopped images. treehouse took a picture of a wig taped to his chin, I took a picture of a couple of leonbergers 'shopped over my face. Four weeks later, the result was me with a thick, luxurious beard, and treehouse with a sparse goatee. But it was a beard nonetheless!

He now sports a goatee and moustache full time, and although it's not quite as thick as mine, it is apparently enough to make his wife happy. She was in on the merriment, and will occasionally join me in treehouse bashing. She's fun that way. That most recent quote from here came a few days ago (you may have noticed me sig change), and I liked it even better than treehouse denigrating himself, so I threw it up there. If I had room, I'd include the quote where she called him an asshat.

Also, at some point during the competition (probably due to my poor typing), the word 'bear' became interchangeable with 'beard.' So there are also many in-jokes about my bear, and how it kills people and so forth.

Lies! Scandal! Tomfoolery!

Actually that's mostly true...

Except for the part where it was prompted by you being in RHD. That pic of me with the wig-beard was dated in mid 2005, before we even migrated all our play-by-posts to ORP, and RHD didn't exist at that point anyway.

Chris Chandler
20th of September, 2009, 20:02
The wig-beard was well in the depths of 3ebb, back before Tree ran his quasi-egyptian campaign, remember?

treehouse
20th of September, 2009, 20:30
Oh yeah, A Series of Unfortunate Adventures...man that flopped hard.

Doombot
21st of September, 2009, 10:37

Good point. It's long enough ago that I don't remember the details. Only that you cheated and still lost. :P

Chris Chandler

I don't think it flopped. I think that's one of the times when RL caught up with folks, is all.

Not that far along yet. Vet school is enough work that Ange doesn't want to have to worry about planning a wedding and fending off her mother's attempt to take over. We've discussed some basic stuff (who we want as groomsmen and bridesmaids, etc), but nothing in detail.
