It's a little tasteless, I admit, but it's what he would have wanted. And it is odd how that has depressed me.

I am somewhat surprised at how depressing the news is, considering I knew nothing of the man besides his involvement with D&D.
Sorry to see him go, but at least his legacy will live on.

A tankard of ale is a poured over the soil in memory of his contributions to my favored pasttime. Drink hearty and many thanks, Gary.

Bad jokes? Time to link to this (http://theferrett.livejournal.com/1065264.html)
...Was finally gotten by the gazebo
...Will be critically missed
...Wishes he'd rolled up an elf
...Pissed off the DM one too many times
...Played with the vorpal sword

Kenzer Co has a poem they print whenever someone wishes to have eulogized a departed friend made through gaming. Unsurprisingly, it's on their front webpage now.
Also interesting, the next issue of Knights of the Dinner Table, #137, is to deal with the 8th anniversary of the death of the fictional game designer Gary Jackson. The issue's already wrapped and ready to go, so this is one of those odd coincidences of life; Jolly was sure to want to clarify any confusion or assumption Kenzer was "cashing in" on Gygax's loss, however. They do plan on running something in issue #138 in memorium.

I feel a strange sadness in my soul... stranger yet, I knew not the man. But for some reason... I feel sad.
R.I.P Ernest Gary Gagax, may you dwell happily in the Upper Planes, where you truly deserve to be, and achevie GodHood status, you deserve it!

For me it's the butterfly effect. I never knew the man, but because of him I've made some great friends and had a lot of laughs. I'm thankful for Gary Gygax.

Perhaps he should have picked a class with better saves!
...Oooh. I made myself feel bad. :bored:

There was a short tribute at the end of The Colbert Report.

I thought that one was the worst yet, it just lacks a joke. And I like xkcd. Even the Achewood one was better, and Achewood is terrible.

There aren't many people who can be said to have brought joy to people who cared about them even in death.

That's a damn shame... I find myself depressed even though I've never known the man. His game has brought me countless hours of joy and nerdness. RIP Gygax.

I think I may have to run a Basic Set game in his memory. I think I may have the original dice...
