I've been lurking here for a while now, and I've been involved in some games, but I would like to see if anyone can help me out.

I have been in a few RPGs, but I have to say that no game I have been in has ever ended well. All of them have simply fallen apart, and I'd like to join one that has a well-dedicated playerbase. Being a highschool senior, I have a good deal of free time, so I can post often.

I have some experience with the Fallout system (although no one ever has pnp games of that) and I know a little about the WoD system, but not a lot.

I am personally very roleplay-centric. I am unfortunately pretty ignorant of rules, but at least I won't be powergaming, I'd be thinking about what my character would do. The downside of this is that I would need a great deal of help in character creation and other things like that. Upper-level DnD is all greek to me, what with all the feats and skill-calculating and negative levels and things.

In short, I'm looking for whatever game/GM who is up to the challenge of taking me in. I don't exactly have a stable income to buy rulebooks, but I am eager to learn and even more eager to make characters and join whatever group you have me join.

Thanks for reading all this, those who did! :P

It might be better to post something like this in a thread asking for players to join a game you find interesting.

Also, you don't need to worry about negative levels in DnD character creation unless you're making a really odd character.

Good idea. I've seen a few games around I'd like to join, but the amount of help I would need to get started in a system I've only heard of (WTF is GURPS? (among others)) is quite off-putting.

Well, seems like I've gotten a pretty firm "thanks but no thanks" from this community... I'll just get back to lurking and look out for any new games starting up, I suppose.

Don't feel bad. Usually there are more players than there are games, so applying for a game that is just starting up gives you a much better shot than posting a "player looking for a game" ad.

Thanks for the advice. I've been thinking of joining Eidolon, having read the "how to join" section, since I am more character-oriented than system-oriented.

That sounds like a reasonable idea, Candleman. They do use the D&D 3.5 system but are more liberal with rules in the face of the story.

It's not a game that updates very often though, keep that in mind. :)

Don't you badmouth Eidolon!

I didn't! What I said at first is a boon imho.

That it doesn't update very frequently is good or bad - depending on what a player wants. :)

Don't you compliment Eidolon!

I... I... huh? You want me to neutralize Eidolon then?

I... wouldn't dare to! :paranoid:

Yes, Eidolon has been slow lately. I blame itches.

Don't you dare be ignorant of Eidolon!

I wonder what's coming next... "Don't you dare play Eidolon!"

The first rule about Eidolon, don't talk about Eidolon.

Don't you fail to phrase that in the form "Don't you <> Eidolon! http://www.online-roleplaying.com/forums/images/smilies/smiley%20-%20angry.gif"

...Eidolon! http://www.online-roleplaying.com/forums/images/smilies/smiley%20-%20angry.gif

Don't you dare think your playful banter hasn't raised my spirits and gotten me into making a character to post on Eidolon!

Don't you mention Eidolon!

Okay, honestly... I think that's the end of it.

Don't you think we'll stop beating this dead horse joke about Eidolon!
