I Have An Idea. This idea involves me eating fairy floss. Once I accomplished this idea I was stuck by another one.
An All Paladin Group.
I have been doing some "market research" and I discovered that many people dislike Paladins, and I understand their reasons why.
What I want to know here is if anyone would be interested in playing in a game like this.
If I get a good enough positive response, I will go to work on the game.

if you do the advanced 'there can be paladin type people' of any race and any corner alignment whose job is basically to be warriors of the faith, sure.

Sorry but nope. Any of the Core races works, but i'm going for the good old fasioned Lawful-Good type here

well i'm kinda interested
but as you know I don't want to get involved with another game until i'm sure i'll have time once i'm at uni
It's a fortnight till freshers week, so it's gonna be three weeks
odds are you will be fully booked by then :P but if you aren't i'll leap in:)

your assuming that i'll be starting before then. I still have to make the thing, and work out all the other little details.
I'm putting you down.
Lets hope there is More

ok whatever :)
The thing is it will be that long before I realise how much work i'll have, and if i get a job thats gonna be less time i have
Really i need to see how things go
but until then can i get some character generation guides? :)

No, no you can not.
You will have to wait untill i get some sleep, then look at the books.
Untill then i'm aiming to have it around Level 5, the straight Class from the PHB, any of the core races, and i'm tossing around the idea of making everyone be a member of the same Order of paladins.
then again it is 4am, and i am really tired, so any and all of the above are subject to change
BigRedRod
16th of September, 2002, 04:09
so it's likely it will be an evil rogue game set on a pirate ship by tomorrow morning?
Level 5 is fair enough
Being a group of paladins of the same order makes a good deal of sense too
Anyhow i'll wait for more details
But i'm thinking of being a girl called Jen right now

I'll jump in with a gnome, and wait 'till level 7 so I can get a clelestial dire badger for a mount. Fact: With one enhancement and one feat, you can throw a light hammer as far as a shortbow. And smack a clay golem with it.
BigRedRod
16th of September, 2002, 04:53
gotta love that as a random fact
Hmm to be honest I had forgotten about the mount
what are our options about level 5 mount-wise? (i can't checkl becuse i'm downstairs rather than upstairs in my room with my books, mainly becuase my comp is having XP reisntalled)

Fair warning here guys, in games that i DM leveling up takes a really really long time. Just the way my games end up truning out.

I don't really mind, I just play in PBPs so I can pretend I have friends and people care about me :)
You learn not to expect experience in PBPs
(except Setxzer seems to do a good job of it, and I try to give a level about every chapter or two)

I'm going to call that a positive responce. Now it just remains to be seen if i can create a game based on it. I'll post soon (relitive term) when i have worked out how or given up :evolved:

As an all-pally party, we'll really be hurting for healing spells later on. Just warning you other PCs. Oh, and You won't find many paladins like mine.

Well we don't have to take every level as paladin, if someone wants they can take levels in cleric and such. I only plan on taking a couple of levels in paladin anyway.

:sob:
But I hold out hope that I might be able to get another Paladin game going. I have a secondary plot, and i did receve some interest, from people that didn't play in the game (mainly due to the fact that I got my players from else where, not this thread)
Well, now i'm trying It out again. So if anyone is interested please let me know.
Please ....

Initiates of the order of the Blue Moon, usually join as young children, sent by their parents or orphans sent by the church of Heironeous. They generally server doing menial tasks, and fend for them selves in matter suck as food preparation. The purpose of this is to teach humility and the ability to survive with out others attending to their needs. Still the order is not cruel in this matter, and it makes sure that each child has enough to eat, is warm at night, and that their hurts are tended to. Gradually as they grow older they are instilled with the code of their order, and taught how to fight. Many leave the order at the advent of their paladin’s quest. When they are deemed ready they are sent on their first Paladins Quest out into the wilderness just north of their Alion Stronghold. What they find there depends on the will of Heironeous. Some initiates find a ferocious battle to survive against enemies and the wilderness. Others find a southing woods with plentiful food, where they spend their time in meditation. A very few, do not return. Upon returning, they are counted as full members of the order, in the second rank and are placed under the command of a senior Blue Mooner. During the following years, they perform the true paladins work. Fighting evil, helping the sick and wounded, feeding the hungry, guarding holy relics and generally bringing hope to the down trodden. At a point, which no one can predict, Heironeous calls the Paladins for their second quest. Returning to Alion, this time they embark to the heights of near by Mt Donus. No one knows what happens up there, for each paladin that returns remains silent about his or her own experience. All that is known is that when they return, they are astride their paladins mount. They are now counted among the First rank of the Blue Moon, and are generally free to travel the lands as they see fit, furthering the Blue Moon’s cause. However upon occasion, some of the first order are called up but the Council to perform specific tasks for them.

Uh, I'm not sure if your Fellowship of Forgotten Fighters is a success yet. Half the party members just fled in terror from an unseen force. It could end up being a really short adventure. Like my character said, "Where did everybody go?"

If You haven't given up on the game yet, I'll join. Who are the current characters? I'll change his style as needed, but I don't think anyone else'll do what I have in mind.
So far I'm thinking a gnome paladin with high Dex. Uses a small rapier (Which has official stats) & a shortbow. A few ranks in tumble and he's excellent for the "honor duel" type, something a real paladin never turns down (If the offender has honor).

Thanks for the interest you two, but I'm just going to give up, and let the poor girl dye. No sense and torting the game by trying to make it last.
At some point in the future I might try to get it going again, and If I do I will let you two know.
Untill (if) then, Party of Polished Paladins have finaly rusted over.
