Either it is a Law that directs one to obey the Law, in which case the question can be repeated ad infinitum, or something other than a Law directs one to obey the Law, in which case the Law is based on something lawless.

Try to find an answer to this question

Trust.

it's actually a mix of trust, self-preservation and community pressure. And it's not a lawless source, but simply a concept outside of law/chaos..

as i will soon be incarcerated in the idaho state pen. I can assure you that we are not all directed to follow the law! However I can also assure you that I will follow the law from this point forward!!! Or rather I have intintions of following the law from this point forward. Or acctually I have no intintion of getting caught again. I think. Maybe.

I would really have to say that we are all given a choice to follow laws and do what is "right." Many people really don't care what they do, they just follow other things becuz people are doing it. They want to conform. That is why we have political parties, to tell us what to think. Many people would say that is the same way religion works. I would have to agree with that. I do not have a "religion" but i do believe in God and Jesus. If you really want to know what i think about eveything. I belive we were all given a free will to choose right from wrong. So law is a touchy subject becuz laws are generally given by a higher power, be it either God, kings, tyrants, or the head of a family. And people will generally break these laws as it is in human nature to sin or rebel if we dont get everything we want. I'm sorry if i blew a question out of proportion. I do not want to start a fight on beliefs or ideas. This just what I have to say sorry if it offened anyone.

What directs us to obey the law? My guess is some kind of gypsie curse..... what.... was it something I said?

Anyways it is lack of trust that causes us to obey the law, we create laws because we dont trust other people enough to let them have freedom, we follow the laws because we dont trust the people in power and fear what will happen if we break the law, we dont undo the laws because we dont trust that other people will be able to create better laws, so in all because we can't trust each other enough not to have laws, we have laws.

Yes, I was searching through the topics and such and it caught my interest. I'm surprised nobody mentioned integrity within' it.

Force - the application of force or the percieved application of force. Law without force is impotent.

The desire to manipulate it for our own ends.

Laziness. It's far less of a hassle to follow the law and not get arrested.
