Yep, one gets his left half, the other his right half eaten. Then they have to face each other again one last time. The winner gets the missing half of his opponent. Yes, mind flayers are strange beings.

Tashalar

Yeah. After those expenses, his owner would probably eat him even if he were able to win the tournament.
LOL

Well Varla is working hard on doing James's work for him. 22 on 3d8! :tsk:

Tashalar

Hey-hey, overchanneling is a risky business! ;)

Somehow I totally missed that Slag would be playing against himself this round. I am a little surprised that Lilth hasn't brought out her Ego Whip yet. Sure Timmy has great saves and a high Cha, but she can still do half damage and it will reduce his saves at the same time.

SlagMortar

Timmy's got Mettle. He doesn't take half damage on a successful will save.

Lord Twig
18th of March, 2008, 07:27
Ah, missed that. This could be quite the match afterall!

Talk about unlucky.

REALLY REALLY UNLUCKY

Lord Twig

And it looks like Varla has won her third match, unless I am missing something. I will wait for Boom to make it official.

Of course if Lilith wins her match it won't matter, but if she doesn't then it will be down to a tie-breaker.

Actually I put in the part about Varla drinking her healing potion on the assumption that Lilith won her match. If she didn't then the situation is not quite as desperate for Varla. We will have to wait and see.

Yeah, sorry Link. It seems while Slag is playing both of his characters against each other, both of your characters were stunned right at the start. It is quite possible that you will not be able to play at all if Jeje can finish George off in two rounds, and that seems pretty likely. :(

Tashalar

I've got my final exam tomorrow, but... it's almost 10 pm here... learning for too long really doesn't make sense now, does it?

...

I guess I'll get up a post to try and finish off George later. Which means that if Lilith wins, George and James could spontaneously aid us in fleeing from the cursèd illithids! If Boom doesn't have to turn down our eager fight for our lives... do you, Boom?

No worries if yes (ie: you do have to turn us down ;) )- we're just eager to have one last big fight against the real meanies. But it wasn't part of the bargain, I know. :)

Lord Twig
18th of March, 2008, 07:56
Yep, Varla was going to shove a healing potion down James throat next if she gets the chance. This all assumes of course that Lilith wins. If Timmy wins then things change a little. Varla might still give James a potion just so he doesn't get his brains eaten while unconscious.

Although, that might be the kinder fate. Talk about moral dilemmas!

Lord Twig

Boom, I think James is only at -7 hit points. He should not be killed outright.

Tashalar
19th of March, 2008, 08:47
Boom -
George took 2 Int damage in round 1 as well - and his hp after round 1 should have been 46.

Furthermore, since he is denied his Dex bonus to AC on round 2, he would suffer sneak attack damage as well (not on round 3 though). Not that it really matters though. ;)

Edit: Oh, George is also stunned - the DC for stun is 10 + Int => 18. But Jéjé's got dire stun which adds 2 to the DC. In any case - Jéjé will speak up just now regardless. :)

Lol, we're up for a long, long, loooooooong fight between Lilith and Timmy.

Edit:
Ooooh, I have a nice idea for a tactic that Timmy might use:
Biofeedback for DR 3 and offensive prescience for +4 damage and then grapple her! :P

Just checked Lilith's sheet and other than hit Timmy as often as she can before her sword is gone and then hoping for natural ones on his saves I don't know what she could do else. Vigor... vigor... vigor...

SlagMortar
20th of March, 2008, 00:58
Yep. Should have gotten Lilith energy stun. :(

Tashalar
20th of March, 2008, 01:00
True... the choice between ego whip and engery stun would have been crazy. Heck, even energy ray would win the day in this case.

*points at the edit above*

SlagMortar

Lilith's dispel psionics check will quickly take care of any attempt by Timmy to buff without even breaking a sweat.

Tashalar
20th of March, 2008, 01:52
Ooooh, right. Ah well, back to bashing then. What do you plan for Lilith to do when Timmy sunders her sword though? Resort to ego whips?

SlagMortar
20th of March, 2008, 02:52
I was thinking of trying a disarm, but Ego Whips might actually be a better tactic. With Wild Surge and the torc, she can toss out a once augmented Ego Whip for only 2 PP. He's bound to roll a 1 sometime.

My appologies, updates will probably be delayed until monday. On a positive note, however, I'll be looking at the feasibility of a brief escape campaign this weekend too.

Tashalar

Awesome! Take your time - no hurry! :)

I have to report for Jury Duty tomorrow, so I will not be posting like I normally do. Just an FYI.

Tashalar
26th of March, 2008, 23:04
I'll be out of town from tomorrow until Sunday eve and might not be able to post. Not that this might be necessary, but you'll probably miss my frequent silly remarks, won't you?

Lord Twig
17th of April, 2008, 11:18
Well it has been a while.

Boom, are you still around?

LeadPal
17th of April, 2008, 11:31
...er, player DMs, anyone? :\

Tashalar
17th of April, 2008, 15:46
Lol, nope, we'll wait for Boom. On the other hand, this is more or less over... someone could step up and help Slag finish his battle with himself. :P

Last time Boom posted, he mentioned something about only being able to post at some later date. Seems like something came up - let's hope it's nothing serious. He's been missing in the Jiangu showdown as well.

Tashalar
6th of May, 2008, 06:21
Well, it's been more than one month... I do sincerely hope that all is well with our dear DM. :?

In any case... shall we proclaim... all of us the winner? Or shall we somehow finish the match between Lilith and Timmy, therebye finding a winner? Maybe BP would take over for only this one match to bring this to an end?

Personally, I don't care to much to find out who the winner is - I'd rather have our last fight vs. the illithids... but I guess we'll won't have that one. Not too soon at least.

SlagMortar
6th of May, 2008, 10:40
I could just do all the rolls for the match and post a winner. I'm not sure a DM is really necessary since it is just me fighting myself. I do hope all is ok with Boomlaor, though.

Lord Twig
6th of May, 2008, 14:35
I would say that Slag can determine the winner of his match however he wishes. If Lilith wins then that is it, she is the winner. If Timmy wins then we need a tie breaker.

I was looking forward to the last stand against the Illithids, but I am not sure who could run it at this point.

Tashalar
7th of May, 2008, 00:08
Go ahead, Slag. But... don't do it all at once... you might be up all night! LOL

Shall we wager on how many rounds the match takes?

Tashalar
27th of May, 2008, 02:54
So.. what's it goin' to be, Slag? Feel like seeing the last combat completed? No worries if not, really. That way we can all feel as winners.

*dances merrily, singing* "I wo-oon, I wo-oon"

SlagMortar
27th of May, 2008, 07:29
I just haven't gotten around to it. We can all feel like winners though anyway. Go team mind! :P

Tashalar

Go team mind! http://www.online-roleplaying.com/forums/images/smilies/smiley%20-%20cheerful.gif
That's very... fitting. Very psionic, Slag. ;)
