They might as well just come out and scream it to the heavens. Their new programs weren't meant to keep track of our personal information in a convienient, collected manner for our own benefit. That's what they wanted us to believe. Everything was subliminal at first, but that is no longer needed. They have us at their fingertips. We are their slaves, they are the whip wielding masters who show no discrimination this time.

Yes, I know about that. I know about the history that you stopped teaching us, I know what the chips are really for and I know about your corrupted gains. You thought one person with a mind would be no trouble. One exception for the couple, my parents, who worked so blindly under you. You made one exception for one family, one family who followed you like sheep, never knowing your true evil intentions. One exception that isn't marked on your map... Sadly, this one exception will tear your corrupt hearts from their cavities.

Alright then, welcome welcome. This is my first time attempting to GM a game, so I'm not sure how it's going to turn out. This game was the brainchild of a friend of mine, and he and I have worked to bring it about. It's an IFPBP (Interacting Fictional Play By Post) RP, set in a future time and taking place in America. Like many IF games, a profile is a basic skeleton that you have to fill out. My friend and I, though, have slightly more than a skeleton...

-------------------------------------------------------------

Faction- Resistance or Government Official
Full Character name- First, Middle, Last
Nickname- Optional
Birthday- Keep in mind that the current year is 2464
Race, ethnicity- All are human. No exceptions
Blood type-
Sexuality-
Genetic Distortion- Fancy way of saying Your Power. Only for The Resistance.
Government Position- No one, unless you beg, have talent with words and agree to comply with me, may role-play the President. Other than that, it's open game and only for the Government Officials faction.
Appearance-
Personality-
History- You don't have to write an autobiography.
Likes-
Dislikes-
Extras- Anything else that would shape a person... Mental disorder, certain disability, irrational fears, O.C.D preferences, preconceived notions of the world around them, excessive paranoia... Just to name a few that may not fit in another category. Favorite number, perhaps. Optional.

Now, the governement is oppressive, beauracratic and not a sterling example of a ruling system. They implant chips into the minds of all newborn babies to keep them under control. Unfortunatly, it also strips away much of their humainity. The higher-ups in the Government don't have one.

The Resistance is a small group of people who have a genetic makeup that prevents the chip from working. It can be anything (when he and I were testing it, my character has cells that vibrated. Literally, it could be anything), and it must make some kind of sense. An extra ability because of this instability is virtually required. Think X-Men, almost.

This is just the shell; if I get enough players and a forum, I'll fill in the rest of the holes. I need between 5 and 10 players, so please let me know!

I'd love to play, and I even think I have an idea for the sort of resistance character I'd like to play and the power that they'd have to keep the chip from working. I'd like to know a little more about IFPBP RP in general, but from what I can gather from here it looks fairly starightforward. So yeah, count me in!

The only real differnece between IFPBP and the type seen with, say, the D&D engine, is playing for storyline. Many people sign up with a D&D RP simply to beat some dragons. IFPBP is centered around character, and detail. I'm not saying that action and fighting won't happen, just that there's more emphasis on the character aspect.

A lot of IFPBP's don't use die, either. But, in the interest of fairness, I'll be assigning stats and such.

Think X-Men, almost.

Sweet! I call Wolverine!

Nah, just kidding. I want to play though. Not exactly sure what side I want to play quite yet. Having a "genetic distortion" seems fun, but being an FBI or CIA agent sounds cool, too.

Is the Resistance actively attacking the Government, or are they biding their time, so to speak? More importantly, is the Government even aware of the Resistance?

It all depends on the players. If players are more aggressive, then the factions will be aggressive. If not, they aren't. The Gov. are at least vaugely aware of the Res., but may or may not have hard facts and such.

In short, godmodding bad, characters good.

I won't know if I'll be able to play until another week or two passes, but I'm interested. More likely to join the resistance than the government, and have a few different concepts in mind of different powers for making the chip worthless.

Just let me know when you want character ideas and the like and I'll make it happen. I'm all ready for this phun-osity!

Alrighty then peoples. There's a little bit of interest, and for this I'm glad. Hopefully we'll drum up some more people (it's really not going to work as well for anything with only four/five people, but it will work), but I think we're goodish for right now. Start figuring out your profiles now, so that when I (hopefully) get the forum, we're all ready to go... ish.

A little more on profiles. For the sake of not being seen as a favoritist (which I get called occasionally when I fill in as DM in games my friends have), we'll be assigning dice and such to stats. This will, in theory, give the illusion of fairness.

I don't cheat. Well, a little, but that's only if I really have to. Railroading is not cool.

I'll get my character up later this week. I've decided that I'd like to play for the Resistance, I just need to pick an ability that breaks that chip...

I'm really happy about this. We have a forum up (http://online-roleplaying.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1334), so please go there.

Tell your friends and family to come join!

We're still looking for people who want to play, so let me know! Particularily loved are those who'll play as Government; we don't have any yet.

So, still looking now? We could use more, right?

Still looking for people who'll join. Groups are fairly small at this point.
