Yup, a lot of the same people seem to frequent both boards. Hell, I sometimes find myself here more often than over there (likely due to the four bazillion games I'm in here).

What about the Be nice to your players! rule? :)

Any why exactly can't we have a post about religion, politics, or the like? Wouldn't a warning "Philisophical content: To be discussed in a rational manner" be enough? Are so many people here prone to raging about such topics? I doubt it.

I think it has more to do with the fact that this entire site, and this entire forum is about RPG's, or playing RPG's. I believe the site was created for people who just want to play a game online, or talk about gaming things, rather then a variety of issues. If we wanted to talk about Politics, I would rather go to a political based forum/site and discuss it there then have it here.

Pretty much :)
Plus it's too keep the Random Jabbering Forum (i forget it's actual name) kind of "free and easy" rather than being full of serious in depth topics. Plus most of those threads seem always to end in hurt feelings and you don't want a DM mad at a player in his game, or players angry with one another OOC
I dislike the topics but I'm not opposed them being made legal as long as you don't expect me to read or post in them

Well, fair enough. I guess I just miss 3EBB discussions. If you're also a 3EBB member, put in a good word for me, 'kay?

I have mentioned on numerous occassions that you are behaving exceptionally well (god that sounds pedantic) on my site.
If you want I can ask Jim or Rebecca to reconsider their decision regarding your banishment. If my mood turns, I could even vouch for you...

Yes, yes you can. I just gotta say thanks as well. I'm gonna owe you one for this (Even if I don't get back in).

It's odd really, one of the reasons this tread was started was to keep the amount of discussions not about RPG's to limited. Yet most of the tread seems to speak of 3EBB, and not this site.
Curious, very curious.

Hmm? What makes you think this thread was started to limit off-topic discussions? The only sort of discussions that aren't welcome are about politics and religion. 3EBB is all about RPG's, so it'd be odd to not allow people to talk about that.

There are rules?
I've been here for 2 years and I only now find out that there are rules?!

Woooooooooooooooooow. Same here! Why weren't we informed!? Oh well. LeeCHeSSS would have decended from on high in order to punish us with Admin powers that we lowly mortals cannot even begin to comprehend, had we broken his rules.

I would just like to remind people that Disruptive or Spam posting is definately a no no. Repeatative messages spread across many different forums will be promptly deleted and the user will recieve some words from the admin about this.
I can, however, symphasize with people who are new to the board and have no idea what to do or where to post. In short the Public Forums (Under Public Commoness) are places to post messages about being new or wanting to join games. It is highly irregular (despite itches attempts) to post in people's OOC threads requesting to join. Most games which have forums already have players and do not need any. If you desperately want to join a game it is more appropriate to send a Private Message to the Game Master asking about possible chances of getting involved in the game. If you believe you are the target of Spam or Disruptive posting please point this out to an ever vigilant but sometimes lazy Admin (please include the offender's user name and links to posts you believe to be inappropriate or out of place).

Isn't it ironic that a spam poster should post in the rules forum?
