Well, the handbook will come in very handy
cause off course most things are the same, except magic is dealt differently ( calling it the one power, and the abilitie to LINK :D)

but combat rules are the same, haven't discovered any differences yet.

Maybe you can snatch a 'copy' of the book on the inet ??

Anyways thank you for you reply, if we have some more players and a somewhat more experienced DM in WoT we can play.

WEALTH
It’s good to be rich. It’s even better to be born rich.
Background: Tar Valoner, Taraboner, Tairen.
Benefit: You begin the game with an extra 250 silver
marks (mk). Furthermore, every time you go up in level,
you can draw upon your family’s investments, gaining 250
mk for each point of Reputation you have when your level
increase occurs. This wealth does not magically appear in
your pockets; you must collect it from a family business, a
relation, or some other source of your family’s wealth. If
you cannot collect the money before you go up a level
again, you lose the benefit for that level (but you can, of
course, collect the money gained for your new level).
For example, you have a Reputation of 4 when you attain
7th level. You are entitled to immediately collect
1,000 mk—but you are traveling and can’t collect it right
away. After a few weeks, you reach a place where you can
collect it. In the meantime, you’ve gained another point
of Reputation, but you still are entitled only to 1,000 mk,
because you had only 4 points of Reputation when you
reached 7th level. If your travels kept you away from your
money until after you reached 8th level, you could not
collect your 7th-level wealth. You could, however, collect
your wealth for attaining 8th level—in this case, 1,250 mk:
250 mk multiplied by a Reputation score of 5.

My character is going to be a Far Dareis Mai: Rishara of the Taardad Aiel, I'm tempted by channeling too, but since I don't know how it works, yet, I'd prefer to keep it simple.

Well I would rather wait and see if we can get another character or two before starting out. Hopefully a channelor and an armsman. :)

And wow...a Cairhienen Nobleman and a Maiden of the Spear. I don't think we could make life for the DM any more difficult. Either that or in the first post I get stabbed with spears no matter how good my diplomacy is. ;)

I was also wondering if this was pre-Rand or book era and where and when during those times so my backgound makes more sense.

I love my starting rep score...6. Though the Wealth thing is tempting....

Bio:

Antony Tarbowin is a statuesque man, tall for a Cairhienen with Greyish Blue eyes and dark jet black hair. He serves House Tarbowin well, playing the Great Game to help aid his brother in his steady rise to power. (*note, Dobrain is fairly powerful and pledges allegiance to Rand later in the books) His has a keen memory, almost photographic and never forgets a name or face. This has kept him from falling prey to more than one sinister plot to hurt his brother by killing him.

Antony has become somewhat of a celebrity with his piano playing skills. Often heard in the fine establishments near the City Docks of Cairhien. His heart wrenching Sunset over the Topless Towers and the energetic Foolish Aielman have gained some popularity amongst music afficianados in the area, though he has not yet gained widespread popularity.

He is quite slender, with the occasional flare up of strong headaches that have left him in bed for days, both ever present memories of a bout of a strange illness that nearly killed him as a child. Despite both facts he is an avid rider and sportsman, often enjoying a fox hunt on family lands. His aim with a bow is strong and his skills with it are developing fast.

Antony has a deep hatred for the Damodred family whom he belives tried to kill him in a recent hunting expedition. Tarin Damodred "accidentally" hit Antony's horse in the neck with an arrow, killing it and throwing Antony to the ground.

This amongst other rumors in the dark of plots against house Tarbowin have set Antony out on the road, under the guise that he is off to expand his music to Andor and the rest of the midlands. Truthfully he has felt neglected by his brother and would much like to become better known as a musician and perhaps make a name for himself in other ways.

Antony is also known for his razor tongue and sharp wit, often leaving others flusterred or roaring in laughter. Like many nobles though he looks down on other of a "lesser" station than he and gets rather upset when not given the common courtesy he expects. He is a gorgeous man, which, coupled with his slimness give him a less than masculine look. This hasn't hurt him in his attempts to court the ladies however.

As to the story for the specific adventure, I think that you are the most apt to come up with something, since you know both the characters and the adventure, if you need details on motivations or reactions, or more background, just ask. :)
