Please be aware that our beloved server is located in a room. And that room belongs to a company. This company has amassed customers. This caused the company to grow. Now the company needs more rooms. The aforementioned room is located on an arbitrary floor. On another arbitrary floor are more rooms. The aforementioned company is aware of the latter fact. This awareness has led to the company taking a decision. The company has now informed me of this decision. It is therefor that I post this news; to inform you of the decision that was taken by the aforementioned company:

As part of the process of moving our operations down to the terminal level of the CN Tower, we are scheduling a power outage which will affect you.

Maintenance window: 02:00 - 05:00 MDT (08:00 - 11:00 UTC) Expected duration: 3 hours

During this time, your service will be unavailable. [...] We appreciate your patience during this transition period and thank you for your continued support.

In other words:
Online-Roleplaying.commodities will be down for a short period of time next saturday...

There isn't anything terribly bad that could happen, is there? Like, 'go archive all of your posts' bad, I mean.

From the sounds of it, it is simply a harware move. Like when you take your laptop from the living room to the bedroom. Though slightly more wires will be involved. In which case if you would back up your stuff before moving your laptop you will likely want to backup your stuff before the server move.

I would vote no. But do whatever makes you feel comfortable. :)

It's a Saturday. From 3-6 in the morning for those of you running CDT. Now, if you're a crazy Aussie or Brit, then it's more like 6pm until 9 or 8 til 11, respectively. In other words, fix your clocks to a more logical time for it to happen ~_^
