My Rifts game has opening for 2-4 additional players to round out the party and the hunt for Tharnos will continue.

Feel free to play anything from the North American continent that isn't ungodly powerful. I can help craft a pc if needed.

I'll accept most mercenaries, men at arms, magic occs and psionics and scholars/adventurers.

The party could use a mage or magic inclined pc.

Humans, humanoid Dbees (orcs, trolls, elves, dwarves, etc), and no supernatural PS permitted. (i.e. no dragons, no demons, werewolves etc).

You should add a something about the pace of the game perhaps?

Like all PBP its affected by RL and circumstances. At least my games get updated (and I updated Rifts today) even though I've fought bi-lateral pneumonia, and other RL issues lately.

I've lost players without any explanation and or consideration and I've lost some like yourself who voluntarily left. To each their own. The pace was flowing fine until I bought my home/moved and got sick... it'll pick back up now that I'm healing and getting treated. :)

Seen lots of other games do far worse here, most of them just abruptly end without anything from the former GM/storyteller and no word or anything. I've kept everyone informed and in touch when I've had to delay things.

I think I run very good games personally both online and in person (and have plenty of feedback either way).

So its upto the players to help make the story, if they don't roleplay or participate regularly that does tend to slow things down some, beyond the usual RL circumstances. I'm more than willing to keep my games going if the players participate.

Happily hanging in here and hoping for a mage...or a mechanic...we all get hit by RL sometimes, it's just the breaks. This time it happened to be Lando's turn...I know it's been mine in the past.

The current party is a Juicer, a Glitter Boy and a Mind Melter, I believe...all very nice, fluffy people. Honest :)

Merctown is a fun setting and I'm looking forward to learning more about it.

MercTown is one of my favorite settings, am actually playing in a MercTown PBP game at another site.

Yes, indeed there are openings for 2-4 roleplayers, feel free to run any concepts by me and post in the OOC thread if you like. As RL warrants I am keeping a regular schedule again, with updates.

I've got a Ley Line Walker in the works to join now.

Any OCC/RCC from the Rifts:UE except Dragon Hatchling is permitted. Other OCC/RCCs are open as well from most of the North American related sourcebooks/worldbooks. Restricted to non supernatural beings/no demons/gods etc. I'd prefer humans/humanoids (elves, dwarves etc.)

I take offense to that. I left because you posted more in threads where you are a player then your Rifts game where you are supposed to be the GM. I didn't leave without any explanation or consideration. I liked the other players very much and enjoyed roleplaying with them. However the lack of consistent posting by you finally drove me to leave. You are the story teller! You have the duty to "drive the story" far more so then players. It is a big responsibility and encompasses more then just telling the players the results of their die rolls and waiting for them to initiate every action.

I understand real life can sometimes cause problems and I am sympathetic to your plight. However I would remind you that I posted more often and with greater frequency then you while deployed and yes even while in the middle of a combat cycle!!! Heck my cousin is in Iraq right now and he manages to get online and reply to emails with more regularity.

Well you really should read the whole post before responding. I didn't say who left without explanation or consideration, but a few individuals have and I've seen it happen to other GMs both on pbp games and in live chat games like on OpenRPG. I was active in both games I played in (because other players were active too) and I updated my games as well, and I kept everyone informed. I had RL issues that caused some delays, others had no problem waiting to play. Also, storytelling takes active participation with players who want to roleplay and build the story based on the plot/setup created by the storyteller.

My family has already served their time in Iraq and many other conflicts (have family in all branches of service) so thats irrelevant to being in the hospital with no computer access which I was a few times.

What ever you need lando, even if you have to roll a character up for me.
I have no pdfs or hardbooks on Rifts Merc Town but you are a very good Gm.
and I am impressed. So if you need me ,count on me. Only problems I have had was a foreclosed home which resulted in a move and was offline for maybe a month or two.
But things seem to be getting better now. I view this community at least 1/day.

Well, have you ever played Rifts before? It's a lot of fun. I could certainly make you a pc or put one together for you (or you could use one of the former pcs). What interests you?

We've all had our share of RL stuff, no biggie, glad to see you back and participating/having fun. That's what its all about.

Ah, well, take a gander. There are like 100+ options to play. :)

Adventurer covers a lot of choices. Wilderness Scout maybe? Could tie you into meeting Marduk and his NPC companion.

I have a friend that loves Rifts. I dunno if he'd do anything PBP, but I'll suggest it to him. So that could fill up the remaining two slots.

Sure, feel free to send him over. Take a look at the 4 pcs in the game and feel free to talk in the OCC forum.

Basically, I'd want something that doesn't duplicate too much any of the other pcs... and isn't monty haulish or ridiculous power level wise.

Mostly anything from the North American books (MercTown/Rifts Mercenaries, Rifts: UE, Rifts: Canada, etc)... no superhuman/supernatural beings...although, you can be a minor psychic per the rules if you so choose... you could be an PFRPG race (elf, dwarf etc), human, even Atlantean..or something similar...but nothing like a dragon hatchling..

See the character creation rules or feel free to ask.

Good luck, there are no legal pdfs for Rifts. You got to buy the actual books. I have a discount that I can get through one of my local FLGS if you want to work something out. Online/Ebay might be another good idea.

http://palldiumbooks.com

Rifts: Ultimate Edtion is what you want.

I can make you up a pc sometime this week easily enough, even got some on paper, just would need to type them up in a file. Wilderness Scout alright then? They're kinda high tech ranger type who are free to do as they like (typically end up being adventurers/mercenaries for hire or the like).

Well, I'm a very experienced GM and player of Rifts and am restricting my game to non supernaturals (i.e. no dragon hatchlings etc) and using mostly human or humanoid type races and RCC/OCCs that are workable together.

It's a mercenary oriented game since its set in MercTown/Magic Zone.

Prince Yami

that I gathered. Those restrictions would definately help with game balance. trouble is i'm the opposite of you and i'm not all that experianced with rifts. I have some minor experiance but not all that much. So admittedly if you let me join it will be in a couple weeks while I get reaquianted with all the rules and read over the various material in the books.

That's alright, between myself and the current players we can find or recommend something for you. Feel free to post in the OCC thread if you'd like. I'm actually making a pc for Tofu who is also new to Rifts. Making him a human wilderness scout that is a merc for hire/guide/ranger type.

That'd be alright, lots of options for OCCs.

Most of the Mercenaries from Rifts : Mercenaries
Rifts:UE has Mercenary, Headhunter and such.
There are the gunslingers from Rifts: New West.

About a dozen options there.

my favorite race is dwarf or anything alien/d-bee, but i dont have a fav occ yet.

i am thinking of making a dwarf mystic with psi powers around mech/elec stuff (as dwarfs like to make stuff) .

i thought about a techno-wizard, but they dont have as many options in regards to powers and the mix of power usage

thanks again

PS: if you know of any other games that i may get in on, let me know

A non techie would probably be good, got a few of them now. A dwarf from Rifts Conversion Book 1 is fine, just no supernatural powers or anything munchkin. A dwarven psionicist from Rifts UE is fine. I don't own Psyscape so nothing from it.

See the 3 Galaxies thread for another Rifts game if you haven't already.
