I recently got Lords of Darkness, and I must say its a nice book and a must have, but a bit -too- expencive. However now I learn there is another book called "Races of Faerum" and I still have not gotten the latest one (cant remember name similar to the Deities and Demigods one). I wonder if its really worth it. :(

Does anyone have any opinions on either of this books? Are they worth it?

Well, since I'm a HUGE FR fan, I'll buy anything (except region books about regions that don't interest me).

I seem to buy alot of FR books, even though I play a homebrew
still they tend to be good sources of info to add depth

I hadn't heard of the Races book
I might check around for it

Not heard of the Races of Fearun, might you mean Monsters of Fearun? I skimmed through the FR gods book as well as the generic god's book int h book store the other day, gods I want them... saveign up for them and going to get them from GamersOutlet... will cost me less even once I add in shipping.. now I just need a bank to rob. Any suggestions?

hostages, hostage, hostages
they are the key to a good bank robbing
and an escape route/disguise

either that or go to Cape town, i'm sure you can tag along on an armed robbery

I like the FR books and FR in general, most complete and detailed campaign setting in my opinion, even though \I am generally too lazy (and reading for pleasure usually isn't an option in between the 1200 page technical manuals)... to read the details about places and people, I extrapolate pretty much everything else for homebrew. I will pick them up when I get time/money.

No, Races of Faerun, ask Danny there he was the one who first mentioned it to me.

If there's a Races of Faerun book, it must not be coming out for a long time. At least not in the states.

I'm a big fan of FR, and I run most of my campaigns there. I'd strongly recommend Faiths and Pantheons, the book about the Faerunian gods, over Deities and Demigods. It's considerably more interesting.

i've had a quick search for the Races of Faerun book
didnt find anything
which means its a hell of a long way away
Still I doubt they can produce anything worthwhile on the subject (not enough to fill an entire book anyhow)

To Billy: buy them from thegamersoutlet through the link on our portal (gets me 5%).

back on topic: I've seen it mentioned a couple of times on the wizards messageboards and morrus' messageboards. It's far from being released, so I hardly know anything about it either.
