Hi everyone. This is my first post on this forum, and it's also my first attempt at breaching into the spooky world of online role-playing. Normally I would RP with local friends, but school and career choices have left me far away from my old group.

So, I figured that I would turn to this forum. From what I can tell, people here are operating with systems that I know. (DnD, Whitewolf, etc...) And that's a good thing, makes me feel comfortable, because at least I'll know the rules.

I'm interested in joining a world of darkness campaign. I'd prefer to not use the new settings V:tRequiem or W: tForsaken. I'm a sucker for the old school metaplots from 2nd and 3rd ed. WW games.

If nothing of that sort is available, I'd be willing to join a DnD campaign. But I'd be itching for something strong in psionics. (Guide to Psionics is the only 3.5 ed sourcebook that I own.)

Can some nice GM point me in the right direction?

AoM, you really should give the New World of Darkness a chance. With that said, I love the Old World of Darkness as well. Perhaps you mind find what you are looking for here (http://www.shadownessence.com).

Thanks for the site, W-i-S.

FYI: I have played a V:tR chronicle... but I find it very stale as compared to the Masquerade. It's still angsty, but the history has been tragically watered down, and it was the history of the old WoD that made me like it. The ease of rules doesn't really make it better in my opinion. And although I do like the rules for creating your own bloodline, getting rid of generations tarnishes the built in hierarchy of vampire society that really sets the tone of the modern vampire motif. (Plus, everyone wants to learn coils of the dragon, and that's just unbalanced and dumb. In Masquerade, learning thaumaturgy was the restricted and protected discipline, but it didn't make you as overpowering as the coils can.)

I hear the new Werewolf is a bit better thought out, though, and that's good to hear.

Player-for-sale!

oWoD preferred, but can handle nWoD.

If there is anyone running an Amber or Nobilis game, I'm very interested in that as well.

Not terribly interested in regular or modern D&D. (unless convinced otherwise by a very provocative storyline.)

Looking for a challenging but story-driven DM.

Well if you would have showed up a few months earlier I would have let you in on the Amber Throne War that I am running (which seems to have slowed down a lot due to Con's and RL)...
I would be tempted to play in a Throne War if anybody else ran one...but due to time constrains and internet problems I am unable to run a full Amber game to my satisfaction. I am one of those detail people when I run an Amber game and I just don't have the time to come up with all of the details, let alone keep good records.

When I get my own place, perhaps in December, and get a real cable (static ISP) instead of a crappy dialup with hella crappy MSN I will be much more tempted to run an actual game of Amber. At that time I will be looking for a min of 6 players and a max of 9 players and will be using the DRPG rules (with small modifications) instead of one of the interesting assortment of personal opinions on cannon rules or totally custom alterations.

Didn't know about this place a few months ago... =P

A throne war Amber game would be awesome to play. Never played a drpg before but am eager to start one. (Hence Amber and Nobilis)

Unfortunately, it's the fall, and a change of seasons can mess with people's time and schedules.
