I just picked up the Antagonists book, and I was thinking I could run a one-shot zombie story here on the boards. Nothing too complicated - just a standard zombie story. I've got three basic ideas:

1) Military Operation - A unit of the US Army has been sent to a small metropolis in Iraq, due to recent terrorist activities. Searching for clues, they find much more then a few bombs hidden in the dusty urban jungle...

2) Laboratory Incident - The characters are all employee's of a large medical lab. While experminting with stem cells and strains of deadly virii, the megalomanic head scientist of the company unleashes an unspeakable terror upon the compound. Now the only way out is down - through the infected areas of the lab to the undergroud subway that will take them out of the lab and back into town.

3) Evil Dead - Police reports show a frightening number of strange murders in the night. Graves are found dug up and the bodies missing. A new cult is drawing people in like moths to the fire. A madman has been reported missing from the local nut house. Strange sounds can be heard from the Church. The characters are normal members of the community. Or so they think.

Anyone want in? I'm leaning towards option number two, but don't give your opinion just yet. I want to get a group of 4-6 people together first, and then we'll hold a vote.

I'm in.

The characters would be just human, right?

I'll do it if I have the right books. What do I need?

I just started here, but I'd be happy to join up in any of the three games. I have the NeoWoD base book, but nothing beyond that.

I would like to play in any of the games although I prefer the Evil Dead idea.

ME! Ideas 2 or three are good for me - lemme know what you come up with, and I'll create a character.

Oh this is gonna be good... lol

Sweet. Five people.

The only thing required to play in this game is the New World of Darkness core book.

Okay, all the open slots are now closed. We've got six people, Sparda talked to me about joining this game in person today.

Here are a few guidelines for the game:

1) Option Number Two (Government Lab) has been chosen.

2) Posting by me will be roughly 2-3 times a week. I except the same of my players. If this is a problem, just say so, and we'll work something out.

3) This is a mortal game. You cannot have any supernatural powers. Don't even ask. If it's not in the core book for NWoD, you can't have it. No ghouls or thralls or anything of the sort, either. You'll all be everyday, average (sort of) humans. Wait, let me just put up some guidelines. Note that these aren't concrete rules. I'm just trying to inspire you to make an appropriate character.

Character Creation Guidelines

There are several possible career choices for someone working in a government laboratory. They are as follows:

Any number of you can be scientists, lab techs, etc. The lab in question is a medical lab, so take the appropriate knowledges (i.e. Science (biology), Medicine, Science (anatomy), Science (genetics), etc.). Having a skill of one or two in firearms is fine. I go to the range all the time, and I'm just a teenager. Just don't make your scientist a death machine who uses kung-fu techniques to strategically stab enemies in the arteries with hypodermic needles to instantly kill them via brain anurism. This isn't a fucking anime.

One, maybe two of you can be a security guard. I don't mean a rent-a-cop security guard either. I mean a government hired, trained-to-kill security guard. The kind that guards top secret government medical labs. *nod*

Note that any character submitted has to be approved by me first, before posting. You aren't limited to the above choices, either. Come up with a logical reason for your character to be in the lab, and it will be allowed. Some easy ideas come to mind (journalist, lawyer, politician).

I just think I should make a point I made above a bit more clear. I think it will solve all our character creation problems:

This isn't anime.

Do not base your character of anything from anime, no matter how cool you think the person is. This is a gritty, deadly game of sci-fi horror. No matter how realistic, cool, wonderful, or "fuckin' schweet" you think the anime is, do not make an anime style character.

Here's a handy checklist!

Does your character...

Wield more then one highly-powerful firearm?
Backflip off walls to avoid the lasers?
Carry a Spas-12, a Colt .45, two 9mm's, an AR-15, several grenades, and the bantam launcher in her bra?
Know how to use all of the above weapons like a Special Operative in the US Army?
Slash bitches with swords like he made it up?
Sneak past a state-of-the-art security system using a mirror and a pack of bubble gum?
Kill people with a single poke to the sternum?
Levitate?
Shoot perfectly under any stressful situation?
Have hair that could compete with the rainbow for number of hues?
Dance in any way while fighting?
Throw witty one-liners, even in the face of a cold blooded killer pressing a gun straight up against his pupil, who is threating to make the wall behind him a collage of blood and grey matter?
Reload a pistol with his teeth?
Have a past shrouded in mystery, which may or may not involve the deaths of his parents and governmental experimentation in creating an emotionless super soldier?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, see your local World of Darkness Storyteller ASAP, for an emergency intervention to save your character concept!

Sorry if I sound a bit mean-spirited. I recently cut my head open, and it doesn't feel to good.

Welcome aboard, mates. The show should be starting soon.

Ok - I'm thinking possibly a grad student - fresh out of college who was working in the research departments more legal area. Has no idea of the secret goings on of the company, and thinks he/she's just working on cures for things like cancer or the like.

You will call me... The Janitor!

No, seriously. I'm gonna play a member of the effing janitorial staff. Details forthcoming.

We have a forum, folks!

Head on over there and reintroduce yourself. Include your concept in your introductory post, even if you already posted it here.
