View Full Version : Seeking replacement Dragon-Blooded players for Exalted

I'm looking for two Exalted players to fill in for a pair of Dragon-Blooded whose player's have gone missing. They both played in the game Chosen of the Gods and disappeared shortly after the game started. The two Dragon-Blooded in question are:
Mnemon Tanan is a water-aspected Sorcerer from the Heptagram. He's kind of an ass, fairly ruthless, and totally self-centered. But one cannot doubt that he has the power to enforce his will if need be.
In addition, he found a rather interesting ring...Anyone who is interested in playing Tanan, I'll let in on that little secret.
Cynis Belabar is a Wood-aspected Dragon-Blooded who's a bit of an oddball so far as Cynis' are concerned. He's become fairly dissillusioned concerning his family's decedance and sexual tenedency, but obviously wasn't too interested in joining the Immaculate order. An Archer without peer, he is an invaluable asset to the Wyld Hunt.
Currently, the Dragon-Blooded group is working for the Wyld Hunt, though at the moment they have no idea what they're Hunting. They DO know that they were just informed that the legendary Soul Mirror (Bo3C) has been stolen, so they assume it has something to do with that.
Also, the party is currently aboard a ship crossing to Khirghast, so if you want to be able to jump right into the game, you'll have to take one of the two characters above. If you don't like either of the characters above (I'll admit I'm not terribly fond of Belabar as a character) Then you can generate one of your own, but he/she won't get into the game until some later point.
Any takers? Questions?

I'd be open again to joining, alas, I have no experience with the Dragon Blooded other than the fire aspect one a friend plays in the group I game with on Saturdays. I've only played Solars and Abyssals, also don't have the book (just the core and Abyssal books). I'm currently playing a Twilight Solar in a face the aforementioned face to face game, so I have knowledge of the sorcery styles and some of the sorcery stuff. So the sorcerer would be my best bet.

Well, I'd be willing to keep you in mind, but you'll understand if I'm a bit reluctant to take you. Dragon-Blooded games are complicated, even if they aren't purely Dragon-Blooded in nature. All the political twist and turns and various things within the houses make it almsot a neccessity that you have the book to follow a lot of what goes on. I'll keep you in mind, Lando, but I hope you won't feel bad if I take another player who owns the book over you. :\
I won't refuse anyone, however. If no other player pops up wanting to play Tanan, I'll take you.

I could play Tanan or a new character (although I would need to know the actual composission of the party to build one that could specificly help out). I am a very experienced Exalted player that enjoys DB's more than anything else, but Solar ;-) and I have played several to good effect in both epic and regular games online and table top.
Playing something with dice would be new to me on a board like this and that system I would need to learn.
I am currently playing in Wired Nun's Amber game as Heldrik, if you want to see some examples of my play or just a frelling great game to read ;-).

No harm done, I am acquiring a few more of the Exalted books as I go, been playing with the live group for 5 months or so now. My Twlight Solar is pretty new to the group having played a renegade Abyssal previously. We do have a mixed group (Solars/God Blooded/Dragon Blooded/Abyssals) in our live group so I've seen a good bit of the political stuff. Really need skills to that effect to play right. I'd probably want to make my own new pc, but without the specifics in the book its rather hard. Anyhow if no one else works out, let me know. ;)

Sure thing, but I just realized I might have a better slot for you to play in. The game (for those of you who don't know) Invloves two parties at the moment: 1 of Terrestial (Dragon-Blooded) Exalted and 1 of Celestial Exalted.
At the moment, I've got 5 of them, 2 Abyssals, 1 Sidereal, 1 Solar, and 1 Lunar.
I've got two (2) slots open for the Celestial party and several slots open for the Dragon-Blooded party. Now, I'm only willing to accept a Solar or a Lunar for the celestials, but something I find the Celestial party REALLY needs is some sort of spokesperson.
So if you still want to play, you can give me an idea for a Solar or Lunar and I'll take a look at it. But I REALLY need Dragon-Blooded players realize. They aren't as powerful individually as the Celestials, so I want a couple more DBs than I have Celestials (though I'm beginning to suspect people aren't going to allow me to do so since right now the party counts on both sides are more even than I'd like:\ ).

Thanos, I really don't have any preference on whether you want to take over one of the two characters or make your own. If you want to make your own though, I'd suggest a Wood immaculate, since we've only got 1 Immaculates and Belabar was the group's only archer.
But he/she won't be able to get into the game until the end of Chapter 1 or beginning of Chapter 2. So if you want to be able to jump in, you can tke Tanan. The choice is up to you.

How about a Twilight Solar Sorceress who has skills in diplomacy and whatnot? Or could play another Caste, just let me know.

Well, I already have a Twilight sorceress actually, one who used to be from the Realm for that matter.
I, personally, would suggest an Eclipse caste of some sort. Their ability to go into territory that would otherwise be unnaccesable or extremely dangerous to enter will probably be very useful in the course of the game I have planned.
For some reason when I say "epic" people think of swords magics and stuff, and not about how they're going to GET where they need to go...

No problem, can definitely play a Caste I've not played before. I know one of the group I play with has played an Eclipse caste, so I will see if I can borrow the Caste book.
Gimme the low down on anything that's not the normal character creation and I'll begin crafting a pc.

Normal Char creation, I'd prefer it if he/she wasn't a walking panalopy of artifacts (both my Ayssals and most of my DBs are) but I won't disallow it if you give a good explination.
Oh yeah, for story purposes, make sure in your background that you say that for one reason or another you have to go/are in Great Forks.

Sounds good, works for me. In my face to face game we've gone to nearly have city and spent a lot of time in Great Forks, so I have some ideas floating in my head. Playing a female alright then?

Heh, if that's what you want to play, go ahead. I don't usually have any preference gender-wise at what my players play. So long as they feel comfortable, I let em play whatever they want.

I can do either gender, but enjoy roleplaying female pcs (even won for best roleplayer in some tournaments over the years). Since I'm doing a male for the SW game, figure I could do the opposite here... should have a pc ready for you early next week.
Can't borrow the Caste book until this weekend when my group meets, but will be eyeing ideas out of the core book until then and pondering charms etc.

Fair enough.
In the meantime, still have a slot open for a Lunar and a lot of slots open for DB players still. For anyone who's interested, Belebar is still open, or you can make a new DB Character that will pop in sometime later in the current chapter or early in the Next chapter.

I might be interested in the Dragon-Blooded crew. Although, I'd rather create my own character than take the reigns of a premade one. Let me know if there are any limitations or concepts you would like to avoid.

LOL
Artifacts and Hearthstones are about the only thing that give DB's an edge against the Anathema! That, group charms, and as many reflexive charms a round as they have essence for.

We've got an Air Immaculate, two Melee specialists, a Sorcerer, and a martial artist with the ability to cast Sorcery, but no spells to do so with.
Personally, I'd say go with a Wood Immaculate, since they are still Immaculates (and we're kinda low on them) but also an Archer, something we desperately need. But it's your character, so I won't demand that you be one.

Hi, I couldn't help but take interest in the dragon-blooded chracter request for your Exalted roleplay forum... I have made a character, a pretty interesting one, but never really played Exalted, but I do know how it works, basically.
What he is, well. He -was- a mercenary taken into work by he dragon-blooded, but he wasn't like the rest of them, either. He stood nearly seven and a half feet tall, his entire body covered in deep red scales, a crocadile-like tail that drags along the ground, along with a muzzle, and two jet-black horns that came out from the back of his head... The 'blooded did equip him with a jade reaver daiklave, and a suit of jade armor. All he did was their dirty work, hunting down and supposedly slaying whomever stood in his path, Exalted or not. But one incident left him to blame for the deaths of a band of their most eilte warriors, and he was beat into exile. Now a rebel to everything, and an outcast to everyone, he seeks more work, hopefully against those who had ruined his life.
-Xiaga Dra'ke'zel would be his name.
Thanks, Tony.

Sounds like a Dragon King.....

10th of December, 2004, 04:31
It does. I think though, that he's taken the name "dragon-blooded" a bit to far, that's all. "Dragon-Blooded" is just a name for a human who's been chosen by one of the Elemental Dragons to posses some of their power. They aren't really "Dragons" in any way, they just say that to show that they've been touched by some fairly powerful Gods. They're still very much human, just humans with a VERY small amount of elemental tint to them. IE, a fire DB would have slgihtly reddish skin, a Water DB kind of smells like the ocean or a spring, most DBs have their hair color changed to correspond to their element somehow, etc. They don't actually physically CHANGE that much, appearance-wise. Certaintly they don't sprout tails or obtain scales. That's something for the Dragon Kings or Wyld-touched.
Besides, this guy is an outcaste. Forgot to mention it earlier, but I'm only accepting Dynasts, not outcastes. It's hard enough for me to tie all of these players together, I don't need the added headache of trying to convince a bunch of Dynast to accept an outcaste into their midst...

I'm game for a Dragon-Blooded: Wood Aspect. I'll have skill in archery since the group is in need. Let me know if you'd like me to e-mail a more in depth concept or character sheet.

Gah, sorry for taking so long to get to you. Doesn't normally happen for me, but I've been really busy lately...
Anywho, Wood aspect is great. For now, you can just PM me the concept, if it'll fit. The actual character sheet and/or background should be e-mailed to me, seperately or together. But lets handle the PM thing first, to iron out anything that may not mesh well with the story.

Hey, I'll take on your Water Sorceror if you still got him open. I've been running and playing Exalted since it came out, so I have a shite load of experience. Give me a message if you want me.

GodHand, I am running the Water Sorcerer for the time being. However, I am much more used to a faster paced online game so I would not be adverse to handing him over.

It's your call, but I'd love to play, and if you've got him all set up, I'd jump right in. Just let me know. I don't know how much it helps, but I've got years and years of experience, so. Whatever you want.

That's up to Thanos. If he really wants to leave, I won't stop him, nor will I hold any ill feelings. Not everyone likes everyone else's style of gaming. So the choice is up to you two on whether GodHand should take over playing Tanan or not.

Well, it seems that GodHand's schedule filled up and he informed me that he wouldn't be able to play in this. And since Thanos has decided to leave as well, it seems that our Water-aspect Sorcerer, Mnemon Tanan, is back up for grabs.
You can check out more about him at the beginning of the thread, as well as in the Forum "Chosen of the Gods." Anyone interested should post here.
