Call me a whipper-snapper but I just prefer my homes to have indoor plumbing. Centralized heating and electricity are also a plus.

But if it was only to game in, (okay, and play. Who wouldn't run around the battlements declaring yourself King of Ireland?) it might be pretty damn sweet.

I too appreciate the amenities of civilization..but owning a castle would prod copious buttock. I've always wanted my very own trebuchet target.

how harsh are the regulations on castles?

As has laready been brought up, living in one as is would be lame
it'd need extensive work so it was habitable

and lots of clever secret rooms and the like adding in, with revolving fireplaces
