And much like the over-used phoenix, I have arisen from my ashes as a new man; a college graduate. Beware! I shall now mercilessly employ my English degree (and where else could I use it, I might add) to brutally correct mispellings or poor syntax. I shall bring down the elitist wrath only capable by my fellow degree holders. Yes, soon the board shall fall within my literary grasp.

Behold! I am English incarnate!

The Wicked Writer,

Cadrius

P.S. Oh yeah, my own writing will be exempt from any beatdowns that might be administered (of course). The cliches, poor dialogue, contrived plots, and vague descriptions are all intentional.

English or American, makes no difference to me. You either talk funny, or you're normal. I'll let you decide which is which. :fun:

It could be worse. He could've ended up with "Frottage Powers". :worry:

Anyway, congratulations, Cad.

*cough*

I feel the need to point out that I utterly disagree with you, Feld. American English isn't a valid language; it is blatant rape of the English language.

I invite Cadrius to join me in my effort to educate the ignorant..., or we can just stick to harassing others on this site about their inability to properly use grammar or spelling.

*eh hem*

I said inability to spell. American-English is a whole other level down.

I'll not have you compare me with it.

all this talk of spelling reminds me of the spelling-bee(seriously who named those things? Why bother with them at all?) in the southpark film

Congratulations Cadrius!
It was wonderful of you to spend all that time in college simply to be able to bring proper grammar and spelling to this wonderful board - three cheers! :)

Bah, badmouthing American English is not an option. There aren't that many differences and, more importantly, I find it difficult to make fun of any language that produces a number of great works of literature...except French.

Kahluah

We shall badmouth American English as much as we like.

Besides, you're just jealous you got thrown out of England in the first place.. ;) *evil grin*

Also, does this mean that you'll now be gracing Freeport more often now? I sincerely hope so, otherwise not even a degree will stop my wrath being poured upon your namesake. *DM grin, which is, by default, worse than the simple evil grin*

Actually New English is a Blatant rape as the true English is Old English and that is now dead.

If you guys like your words raped so damn much you can get yourselves thrown in jail with a guy who calls himself Bhubbah. Now spell "cornhole" you filthy twit!

Don't talk from expierence

Cadrius
26th of May, 2003, 13:00
Please, if we're going to do this "blatant rape" thing we might as well rip on every language that's descended from another. French, Spanish, English, etc. Personally I don't see a big enough difference between English and American English to make it a separate dialect, but maybe I'm just more open-minded than the rest of you non-American bastards...

And yeah, I think I'll be making my presence known more now that I actually have this thing called "free time."

LeeCHeSSS

This isn't at all what I expected from someone with an English degree ;)

Oh well, I'll tolerate your open-minded attitude Cadrius. Just don't pro-actively defend their corrupted language in my presence; I might start to cry...

Numair_Salimain
26th of May, 2003, 21:24
Why don't we leave this at the fact all languages ( with a few exceptions) are to put it politely, directly descended from Latin.

LeeCHeSSS
27th of May, 2003, 18:40
If you'd omit "directly" from that sentence, you could convince me...

itches
27th of May, 2003, 20:07
Directly. He He He. You ignore any non-european languages and you just might be right!

Numair_Salimain
27th of May, 2003, 21:28
But most language has been twisted around if not by latin by one of its descendents. Ususaly english creating Franglish, Spanglish and all other sorts of horrors

SponkleofInfini
27th of May, 2003, 22:05
What about the asian languages, middle eastern, african or are you choosing to remain ignorant on that part :)

Cadrius
28th of May, 2003, 01:41
The worst is when you cross Spanish and German. The title of that language is best left unspoken...

*disrupts space and time tearing a hole in the fabric of creation and destruction, a huge ball of light shines through the hole and a figure appears, drapped in cloth carrying history books and notes*

Why don't we leave this at the fact all languages ( with a few exceptions) are to put it politely, directly descended from Latin.

GREEK!!

*An explosion of light as the figure is sucked back into the pits of eternity screaming - Noo!!!! - forever bound to do that which cannot be done... in three months.*
